I’ve seen both the original silent film as well as Shadow of a vampire and in my opinion both of them are excellent especially Nosferatu (1922) which I consider not only to be an absolute masterpiece of gothic horror, but one of the greatest films of all time.

Nosferatu is credited with being so many “firsts” in cinema I encourage you to research. If anything, Eggers was perfect to select Nosferatu. Truly a perfect pairing.

Director Robert Eggers wrote and directed The Witch [2015]. It is a psychological horror masterpiece.

I am overly giddy about this film! Pretty sure they won't show him unless you go see it which just makes it top tier horror for me. The homages are being paid in spades by Eggers and man, Skarsgard is lucky to portray such iconic characters!
