Our pool smelled so bad too! It was just an above ground. The grass underneath smelled bad for days. Pissed off the mosquitos when I cleaned it.

Harbor freight has cheap trash pumps that will make your life 10000000 times easier.

There’s no way one of those pumps would do the job without needing to be unclogged a thousand times.

@@NoSlack depends on a lift pump or sump. We ran the sump style, and used a plastic wide bill shovel with garden hose around the rim to get leaves out. You take some chicken wire or hardware cloth and build a wire bucket for the pump, and it will suck the pool down to almost dry in minutes, then start shoveling. The hose kept it from tearing the liner A trash pump with a strainer on the inlet will do similar, but not as shallow.
