NoSQL databases (aka "not only SQL") are non-tabular databases and store data differently than relational tables. NoSQL databases come in a variety of types based on their data model. The main types are document, key-value, wide-column, and graph. They provide flexible schemas and scale easily with large amounts of data and high user loads.

Amazing video! Helped me immensely with preparing myself for my final interview tomorrow. I have a question: Why was your mic so low quality until the last 25 seconds? haha I could understand you ok most the time with the low quality but listening to the whole video with the bad mic and at the very end it becomes so amazing quality... Great explanations thanks! 1 question, why would a leaderboard be a popular use case for key-value stores? I'm still learning but thought key-value stores are best used for unstructured data, whereas a gamer's name and score could be easily structured in a relational database? | sessionID | userID | score | ------> | userID | firstName | fastName
