When I was a kid my mom made us snow cones from an old ice shaver. You had to fill it with water and freeze overnight and when it was ready you turn the crank on top. There were colors on it that turned with the crank. I have fond memories of that snow cone maker.
@mszoomy5 жыл бұрын
You and your kid are precious, looks like you have a good relationship. I have a Snowcone maker but the problem with it is you have to freeze water in a container that came with it. The container is basically a Tupperware container but it's a specific size so the block fits in the machine. It's a pain in the ass because regular ice cubes just bounce around in it 😒 but when it's middle of summer and I remember to freeze up one of those cubes I enjoy root beer or Pina colada. Oh the other thing is if instant more than one I have to freeze a thing ahead of time, put it in a baggie in the freezer then freeze another one rinse repeat until I have for a 5 and it takes almostb24 hours for this thing to freeze solid, it's a pain if you want more than one, you really got to plan ahead. However, it's much smaller than this thing

My boy Brandon comin' through using the Blue Razzzzzzz! Heck yeah, my favorite flavor of anything, haha. Great review. Hello from Indiana. We had snowcones earlier today it was perfect weather for the kids to enjoy snowcones while cruising down the road with the top and doors off the Jeep. They'll have fond memories and.maybe buy a snowcone maker when they're older. Snowcones cost $2.50 here, so two visits (4 people) would pay for a machine to have at home.

Interesting. I don't have this, but I do have another product by Nostalgia that's basically the same thing: A Coca-Cola branded "Slushie" maker, for lack of a better word. The church I went to as a young adult had what was called "The Waffle Wagon" in the local fair every year. We made malted belgian waffles. You got a scoop of ice cream with your choice of topping. They were the best. I worked that Waffle wagon every summer for years and I never got tired of them. Now that I'm in my fourties man do I miss those waffles. Not the same as doing that 24/7 day in day out but it was a blast every year for a week.

How much fun is that!!! Sounds a lot quieter than my mini Ninja. I use that to make frozen drinks which chops the cubes to about the same consistency. Probably not as fun or nostalgic but couldn't you put a chilled bowl inside the machine to collect the chipped ice and put it in the freezer right after it's chipped to prevent it from melting inside the machine? Seems it would be helpful when making a lot of them at a time. How much finer is the ice than the crushed ice setting on your through the door ice maker? Do you think starting with crushed ice instead of cubes would speed it up so you can make more in a five minute time span?

I feel like it's a little large. I get that it's decorative, But a machine that large should at least be able to keep the snow cold to prevent it from melting. It should also have a place to store ice cubes, if not form them itself. I mean I get that that would make it much more expensive, but this just seems like way too large of a machine to accomplish what you could probably do with a small blender.
