THATS HOW IT WAS HERE TOO !!! MOPARS ALWAYS WON !! I was a bad boy and we street raced and Mopars usually won as well.. GM and Ford guys would always race each other as it was very close for those makes of cars..Mopars stomped their rear ends !!!! Sure some GM/Fords would give some Mopars a hard time but over all Mopars were built better,faster,quicker and rode and handled better !! Back then we would bash each others cars all in fun,Chevy Sucks,Ford sucks,Mopar sucks etc....But we were doing it in fun...If another brand of car broke we walked over and helped them to get it running and we were all civil and buddies/even when we were strangers !! Its different today.. We all agreed when an AMC rolled up lol,oddball cars but some were very quick ! I own a 68 Charger RT since 1972..440 Magnum/727/3.23 ran high 12's in 1974 bone stock,bias ply tires !! I only added better mufflers and tuned the carburetor..I bought the lowest mile 68 Charger in 1972 56,000 miles,others had more !! By 1980 these had 150,000 and over 200,000 on average but 5 digit odometers only read 99,999 or less they go to 00,000 after 99,999 ! I got the basically stock engine (intake heads were done lol) 68 Charger to 12.30's !!! Headers,carburetor and better tires than factory ! 140,000 miles on the original engine !! Today it runs a 535 stroker and runs low 10's in same street form... Car can be in the 9's but i want a street car !! My Dad still owns a 70 Cuda 440 6bbl he bought new,3.54 rear he ran high 11's when the car was 2 weeks old,slicks and played with the carbs..Engine was factory as he had warranty !!! We also had a 67 Cougar very rare 390 4bbl,65 Mercury Parklane 390 4V...After the Cuda he was mainly Mopar (Mom had a new 85 Monte Carlo SS and also still owns it ran 15.60's 305 4bbl,stock except turbo mufflers,should have kept the Cougar too but it was sold ).. I own several older Mopars and am lucky enough to buy a few GM and Ford cars from the 60's early 70's..Again the Mopars Rule !!

These vintage mopars reminds me of being given grandma's car only to have the engine and tranny replaced, suspension and of course the stereo so we could pick up chicks in High School!

Very nice coverage. I race in the 422 Allstars N/SS series. It would be great to run each series points TOP 10 against each other. I see a couple names I recognize. Cool.

Thanks John. I was just watching you guys from the East Coast Stick Nationals this weekend. That would be a great idea to race top points earners in a special Shootout.

422 Allstars accepts all brands. Ford, GM, AMC, Mopar, big blocks from 59 to 70. Ford is one of our many sponsors.

Mopar there is only one. That’s why every single top fuel, alcohol plus pro stock run only one motor well it’s the Chrysler Hemi which can produce over 11000 hp
@mikeburks96415 жыл бұрын
Mopar For Life Mopar didn't even invent the hemi head engine, they only trademarked the name hemi. Ford made a couple of hemi head engine in the 60s-early seventies. the Ford boss 429 gave the Chrysler hemi all it wanted on the NASCAR tracks. the Ford cammer was a more powerful engine than the Chrysler hemi when they raced against each other in top fuel the cammer usually won. since the early seventies top fuel engines have been tool room engines, there is not a Chrysler part in them, get your facts straight.
@kevinpatrick87885 жыл бұрын
Mike Burks all nhra top fuel and funny car motors ran today are based off the chrysler hemi motor . the ford 427 cammer engine was a hand built exotic engine in very limited numbers and was never offered in a single production car . the cammer was given to select factory sponsored race teams and the cost to buy one for a regular racer was in the neighbourhood of 14,000 dollars then . when ford came out with this engine chrysler started developing a dohc hemi to counter the ford cammer but nascar laid down a ban on these exotic engines . the ford cammer was built in such low numbers you would have a better chance of spotting bigfoot than a ford 427 cammer engine in an old race car.

You're right. Three cameras, drivers name, class, index and reaction time when they launch....this sucks! The next time I get paid to video an event if there isn't enough parody within all the brands of cars I'm walking out! lol. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Even though I am a Chevy fan I still respect any muscle car from the good old days. Mopile was not the only car racing so that won't work. Good vid, just to many of one brand. It does make me kinda wonder why is the BBC the most popular engine for performance:)- Yes even more so then the Hemi. I do miss the old days of racing, none of this 1000' bs.
@kevinwilliams22757 жыл бұрын
Oh ya. I agree but GM has the cars and motors with the most race wins including the most popular line of engines since the 50's and today ya can't hardly beat a GM crate motor all the way to the evil, mean, wicked and nasty LS motors. I remember back in the day one of our friends had a 69 Road Runner and we used to make fun of it and him because you could lean on the quarter panel and put a dent in it and then hit the top of the fender with your fist and pop out the dent. Always thought that was hilarious. Try that on a Chevelle or Nova or even a Camaro.

1960's super stock racing 'was all Dodge n Plymouth dominating -even back in the 1950s people would scrap out a De Soto for the faster motors 'a'lot of the older people like Mopar because of the racing history and legends back in the 50s 60s 70s Big daddy Don Garlits Richard Petty the Ram Chargers etc: old Mopar had very strong motors -and top fuel drag racing was all Chrysler big block=for many years 'so all these 1960s super stock Chryslers 413s 426 max wedges back in the day 'was easy to buy from the factory and put slicks on 'and run 11s and 12s all day long~ 'ugly cars but very fast '
