Cool seat-belts, maing! Good price too. What year range did GM use that specific style? '65-'68 maybe? I remember them well.
@tomeighty2 ай бұрын
@@UberLummox I'm not exactly sure the years that style was used but I would have guess the same years you mentioned. And then I got in my buddies 1980 Chevy Malibu and saw it was the same belt design but it didn't have the GM logo in it, it was just blank. Pretty cool to see though.

Yeah sure is unreal. And the Brew City Gassers group tries there best to keep the car period specific in the looks of them. But the transmissions and clutches are obviously upgraded to modern days to grab all the power they can get out of those old carbureted engines.

@@tomeighty I ran the car in the ‘80s and it scared the hell out of me. When your manhood lays on top of the center section of the rear and the tires rub your elbows when they shake during the burnout, it wakes you up. I had the blower hat come off at the 1/8 mile on a run and took a chunk out of my helmet. Good times 😬

I watch and enjoy pretty much all your videos Tom but I had an issue with this one that I thought you would want to hear. As a lifelong 68 year old drag racing fan the one thing that frustrates me more than anything else with drag racing videos is cutting away from the action without showing the times. The ET’s and speeds are what makes it relatable. You normally do a really good job at intentionally showing the times. Not sure why you went away from that here. 🤷. Because of this I quit watching before the 5:00 mark.
@tomeighty2 ай бұрын
Hey Dan, excellent observation. And I have a great excuse for it. As the cars are running down the track the next set of cars start doing the burnouts. So I had a choice of missing all the close up burnouts and filming only passes going down the 1/4 mile or getting the best of both worlds. And for me getting the best of both worlds means I get to take pictures of the burnouts and launches which I post up on my Facebook page of 600k followers and gets tons of views, and earns me more money that pays for me to goto more events like this. So I understand and appreciate what you are saying and hopefully you understand my dilemma when shooting videos that cut them off short. And as always I appreciate you checking out my videos and the great comments. Tom

This is a quarter mile 1320. Only the NHRA Top Fuel Dragsters that go over 300 mph race at tracks that will clock them at the 1,000 ft mark and not the 1320 finish line.

Most of the races were shown in full, but when I was standing down by the burnout box that group of cars were doing burnouts soon after the cars in front of them left off the line. It was a tough call but I wanted to capture burnouts and launches. I can cut up videos like that and post it on my TomEighty Facebook page where I have 500k followers on there. I hope that answered your question, and I appreciate you watching my content. Tom
