Ed, Edd n Eddy: Eddy Moments Season 1 - The Nostalgia Guy

Eddy is one of the three protagonists in Ed, Edd n Eddy, and the self-appointed ambitious leader of the Eds. Eddy is often selfish, and mostly works for his own interests, sometimes even neglecting his friends. Because he is frequently overambitious, deceiving, loud, and power-hungry, his peers often socially reject him. Kevin describes him as being "desperate" on more than one occasion, as Eddy is indeed starved for social acceptance and he is irritated by the fact that his rival Kevin is the most popular kid, whereas he is not even as popular as Plank.

I honestly feel season one, especially the beginning was best imo. Ed wasn't dumb as rocks, Eddy nearly fighting Kevin and not running away from him, and the adventures they had a side from scam after scam episodes

Personally, i found the 1st season of Ed, Edd n Eddy as good but not as much as the rest of the show, the episodes felt a little slow, and the voices have not so much personality, likes if they wasn't so excited to do their job, i see the show also in spanish from Mexico and still sounds empty of effort or personality, whatever this season isn't bad in fact is good.

If I could create an episode of Ed Edd n Eddy when it was airing this is what it would be: "Ed Takes a Holiday", in this episode after another failed scam, Eddy decides the Eds need a vacation, despite Double D’s reluctance. The kids more than happy to help send the Eds on vacation in exchange for money for them to stay out of the cul-de-sac for a week. As the Eds make camp at a beach, Double D isn’t happy that he was forced to go on a vacation, but he slowly starts to have a good time with his friends. Meanwhile, back in the cul-de-sac, the kids are thrilled to be rid of the Eds for a week, but without the Eds around the Kankers have nothing better to do than to bully them. After the first three days, the kids decide they can’t take it anymore and decide to look for the Eds and bring them back to the cul-de-sac.

I actually prefer the way Ed's character was written in Season 1. What made him so charming was that he actually had his own interests and hobbies (comic books, monster movies, etc.) outside of chickens and buttered toast/gravy during the later seasons. I think the only time it's ever brought up again was in boo-haw-haw, the Halloween special and that was about it. After that, it feels like he was just reduced to a loud simpleton with very few elements of what made him loveable in the first place.

I appreciate opportunities to revist things from the past. So much has been lost over time, but watching something like this helps me forget where I am presently and remember times when I was younger, when things were different and when people were still alive. Even if it's only for a moment, it's a comfort I haven't experienced in such a long time. I wish I could tell the younger me to cherish what he had more. I never felt like I was someone who took life too much for granted, but as I've gotten older I realize I never appreciated it enough. Please, if there's one thing I could give anyone reading this advice on, don't wait to ask the questions that need asked, or to do the things that need doing. You never know what won't be there anymore. People pass away, and sometimes the people that are still around aren't the same people your trust, comfort and love held. Please never take time that you have for granted because nothing breaks your heart more than looking back with regret on what you could have cherished more.

You know, after going over the TV Tropes page, I can understand why the Eds went through such a Flanderization after Season 1. Ed got punched in the face so many times by Serah that he suffered brain trauma causing him to be the way he is. (I swear I hate that abusive little brat) Double D wanted his parents to stay and spend more time with him, changing him from this relaxed cool guy to the genius drama queen that he is when it comes to Eddy's scams. Eddy wanted to be like his brother so that the kids would like him, but after so many failures in the first season, he ended up becoming the way he did until the movie hit.
