It's a BRAVE try mate, considering the 6 other jobs you're doing. and the STRESS-factors. It's good to document that "process" TOO, seriously without being personal do a VID on the PYS ops (psychological-self-war) side of this, we ALL suffer from the same busy lives, families, and priorities, but (real) people appreciate those who try, and review that process, get back up, and go again. PERSONAL GROWTH: May your reach exceed your grasp.

It is a great project Ricky and in one way a great success: you (and we) have learned from it and can see not only what to do but what not to do. I think with all of the issues you had you have learned and grown a lot more. If you'd had an easy year personally and it all worked, both you and we would not have learned so much.

100% right on! If a site is making 10k/mo after 3 months then either they already have a business and existing traffic source, or they did something super shady and that income isn’t going to last. The sites we build are built to last. We’ll face Google updates that cause traffic to shift this way and that, but these sites will still grow and earn a great income long-term!

@@IncomeSchool spot on!! I have 6 sites and the record I’ve had was to make $500/mo after 3 months on a new site after a crazy grind with me and my mate towards the end of last year. Me and my mate spent about 50 hours a week just writing and writing to cover our niche. We wrote 150 posts on the site and continued for 1-2 months That’s tough and not many know this is what it takes if they want to see ”just” hundreds of bucks per month.

It’s more important to take care of yourself and your health and to be there for your family. People’s opinions can change like the wind. So why give importance to something that unstable? Especially, to the opinions of trolls? Prioritize, delegate, and forgive freely (including yourself). YOU GOT THIS 💪🏼

@@IncomeSchool Hey Ricky, I'm relieved to know your family is still intact. No need to share personal details, I'm just glad to know that your family is OK. I can relate to you in this video. I feel like I have so many irons in the fire with my different lines of business, that I am failing way more than I'm accomplishing. The problem is I need the various lines of business incomes to stay afloat. But God is good and faithful, I'm just trying to emulate Him and be faithful to Him, my family and my commitments. It's not easy, in fact, it's hard, and unfortunately it takes more than positive cliche's to overcome. I have committed to reading the Bible daily to feed my spirit man, so that I can function better. And 24 days into 2024, I can already see a difference. Anyways...

I love that. Yes, my stresses came from outside my immediate family and I'm fortunate to have a very understanding wife. We've been through a lot together and have learned to communicate well so when I've had some really hard moments, she's been able to recognize that the anxiety was taking over and give me an ear without judgement. In 2023 I put a lot more than I had previously into studying the New Testament of the Bible and I think it honestly helped me get through the year. I felt a lot more closeness to Him and still do as a result. That's a great commitment you've made!

My "day job" is as a 20 year plus real estate broker. I too am a people pleaser, and face similar negative challenges you outlined every day. While you can't change your nature, I can offer you some advice for putting it in perspecive: The good people are silent. You provide immense value, and dare I say, "experience, expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness", to thousands of us. Yet we rarely speak up. It's the "bad people" who whine, complain, and criticize in wildly disproportionate numbers. You are a leader, rational thinker, and have the responsibility for your family and employees. Have faith in your abilities, and even though the loud "few" are trying to tear you down, the silent "many" support your efforts and respect your abilities.
@IncomeSchool9 ай бұрын
Thank you! I've been seeing that a lot over the past year. Occasionally a video sparks a bigger response from the wider audience and I get a reminder that most people aren't just looking for a chance to tear me down. That's a really good life lesson for all of us people pleasers!

“Those people suck” another unexpected but key life lesson from Income School. This must have been a tough one to make, but great work it’s a valuable video.
@IncomeSchool9 ай бұрын
It was tough. I don't like to call people out, but those people have been incredibly toxic for me and I had to face the music. There's literally nothing I can do that would make them like me and not want me to fail. That's totally outside of my control. It helped when I realized that people that like to tear others down for fun really do suck (at least in that respect) so it makes no sense to worry about what they think about me.

Hey Ricky, as a content creator myself with a thriving blog and YT channel, I wanted to comment on some things you said in the video: Happy people are happy to see others succeed. All the nay-sayers, critics, and "know-it-better's" can only spread negativity because they're probably hurting themselves. I am sure what you went through personally was very painful and not being able to reach your project doubletime goals was another punch in the gut. However, I have been listening to and enjoying so many of your videos! Even though I am not a Project 24 member, I find your blogging system the most thought-out and sensible so much so that I recommend you guys in the various blogging FB groups I am in. Ricky, I’ve been eagerly waiting for this update. It puts so much into perspective and clearly shows being realistic about goals. Last year I started a new website, as a challenge with clients, and set a target of 2 blogs a week. My clients weren’t happy because I’m a writer and generate a lot of content. They expected more. But I was recovering from health issues which dragged on longer than expected so if the target was higher I wouldn’t have achieved it. It is refreshing to see the honesty in this video. But the best lesson for me from this - you might not have achieved what you wanted but you started and are further along than you were this time last year. You also didn’t give up. Well done 👏 Awesome video.

I have been trying to crack this blogging nut since 09 and it was you and this community that gave the monetization strategy clarity. You teach the real world results, No one is teaching this level of the blogging equation. If I may interject on a personal note...you may know this but allow one older than you and a fellow 'people pleaser' personality to share this nugget of life experiences... The neh-sayers are the one with the problem... It's not about you, it's truly about them. Enjoy that sweet family of yours, kids are small only once and you'll never get that time back. That would be very cool and i would watch it. I think it can be a bit harder sometimes for me to stand up for myself and follow my passions, but at the same time it can be a advantage in other contexts.

Ricky and income school team - you guys are awesome! Life happens and this is a true representation of what happens when "life gets in the way." the momentum is already there, and I'm confident traffic will pick up as your articles have time to rank. This is not a failure by any stretch of the imagination. What you're doing is working and I'm excited to hear when you see the hockey stick 🏒 happen! Keep your head up and thanks for always sharing such valuable content.

Ricky, I've been following you on KZbin for about a year now, and I honestly think that at least a third of my most helpful knowledge has come directly from you and your videos. As a brand new business, your honest, direct, plain-spoken content has been instrumental in making me a real professional. Thank you for that. LET'S GO 2024!!!

How many people, after announcing a project like doubletime and not hitting the numbers like planned, would have had the follow-through to do the final video showing how and why it didn't produce the expected results? So glad you did! Thank you for sharing this side of blogging...these are the same setbacks and discouragements we all face in this business.

First i wanna say how much i love the video. With evey 3rd video on the internet showing how people got to 10k/month with wherever bs they're selling it is so refreshing to see someone honest. As far as people people complaining, ricky thats the difference between winner and losers. Losers see how people fail and why endeavors are not worth while winner are trying to fail and learn and take whatever opportunity exists. There are a lot of opportunities out there and it's super important to try to take them. If people dont do blogging because your experiment didnt work out they are not capturing the opportunity wnd thats their loss.

This has been one of my favorite of your videos, because of your total honesty! I’m a Project 24 member who joined the last day of 2022. I have an old blog that I’ve been updating, and a small KZbin channel. I’ve been following you on project double time this whole year. I feel so encouraged that in spite of all that life has thrown at you, you have still built up a blog and YT channel that makes money! If you could do that, then I am fired up more than ever now to not slack off on my goals. Now I can see that things don’t have to go perfectly for my hobby to become a money maker. Thank you for being a good, honest, genuine person that I can trust!

I was really excited to see this video; when you posted your plan last year, I thought that it was way too ambitious (simply because I feel I'm too stretched thin with all I have going on in my business - I can't imagine adding all that), but I was so curious as to how it turned out. You've done really well! Thank you for your transparency. I appreciate it.

The fact that viewers expect the people they follow online to be 100% perfect at all times as if they aren't regular people is so ridiculous, especially in an industry that's being changed so much with the introduction of AI. I'm sure you'll get through this; it's just one of those periods in life that we have to trudge through! 😁

I agree with you about participation in relevant groups, because you get specific questions people ask over and over AND it's easier for me to write if I'm literally answering a real person's question. ...and of course there's that whole thing where you become recognized as an authoritative voice. I built a successful blog without doing that, but I started in 2009. Social media absolutely helped me become recognized as an authority; it just wasn't from groups. Back then, you could start a page, get some followers, and interact with them almost in real time. It was so much fun. :D

Thanks for being so honest, Ricky. I've been a fan of the channel for years and I'll keep supporting you. I know there are a lot of dishonest people out here online, but don't let them get to you, although that's easier said than done.

Thank you, Ricky. We trust you and you are the primary source of trust and inspiration for everything related to blogging, objectivity, and realism. (And success is the best slap for losers.) I look forward to participating with you in the 24 program soon. Thank you and I wish you success always

Really, really appreciate the honesty. The truth is many bloggers will give up, HCU really messed up the industry. The thing is, Income School was always giving good advice, and they adapted their strategy over time. Good work Ricky! Love you guys.

@Ricky I so appreciate your honesty and your vulnerability. You are just human. We all have crappy years. Life happens. Don't care other what people think. You are a great inspiration no matter what. Your learnings are gold. Don't give the people you can never satisfy any space in your life. You are right, they are bad shitty people. I have been in P24 for over 3 years and you have never disappointed.

Love your transparency in this one Ricky! I thought you were crazy to try and do that in 1 year while also running Income School lol. And then with everything that happened with AI and Google updates last year there was just no way. I’m excited for an update in maybe 6-12 months on how this blog is doing! :) I bet it’ll take off in no time. Hockey stick growth!! :D

Thanks Ricky, for being honest. Hope you're doing better with your health and personal life. I too decided to replicate your project by starting mine last year April. I and my partner wrote 150 articles in 3 months. Wrote mainly on 1 subniche with 125 articles on 4 clusters, but branched into a 5th when I realized that my topics had very low epmv. Wrote about 25 articles in the new subtopic. At the moment, I'm hitting 3k monthly traffic, which is mainly coming from the 4-6 worst epmv articles in my site. We've stopped writing on it. Hope to resume when it hit 1 year or so, and to focus on the new cluster. It's getting 5-6 dollars monthly. I always knew it's not a failure yet, just need to change direction with content creation. Thanks for finally sharing your Project Double Time stats and for your sincerity.

I found myself resonating with this so much! Thanks for being real and honest. Like others have mentioned, your transparency and integrity in sharing this "failure" make me trust you and Income School all the more to truly tell us like it is, not just want we want to hear so you can sell more memberships. When you shared this goal a year ago, I remember wondering how in the world you would do this in addition to everything else on your plate. It made me feel so inadequate in my struggle to find time and bandwidth to work on my site. The fact you couldn't, either, and shared not just the time constraints but the psychological ones as well, not only make you so much more relatable, but validates my struggle as well. Thanks so much for sharing this the way you did! And finally, $400/month after one year is still a big win! Glad to know it can be done! 🙂
