Oh yes the joy of the requirements of being on SNAP! Any sort of raise in cost of living they go down. I received a $29 increase this month/year through disability. My mortgage went up $21 and my SNAP went down $13 and so there goes my cost of living increase! The grocery prices eat up the $108 a month I now receive. Last year I received under $100. I’m thankful for increase of up to $108. It had been $121. Last year it was $80 and $99. It’s been a blessing to have food pantry and mobile food banks! People would starve if there wasn’t food pantries and mobile food banks.

I got lost my medicaid and I evidently am not poor enough to get any SNAP benefits but I somehow make enough to pay over 240 for medication I will literally die without, but since there's no actual person to go see, I have to keep trying to find answers on the government websites, all which just link back to each other. Being disabled shouldn't mean I only eat once a day and it's usually a peanut butter sandwich. 😢

@ Well I don’t receive Medicaid because I own too much property. I own a second property that my one sister lives on. She has been disabled longer than me. I had planned never to retire because I helped support my family members financially since their SNAP and other benefits were cut on a regular basis. I receive more money from disability than she does so I help her with having a cell phone and prepaid cards. I also help her with other expenses. Plus I have helped my children. I go to the food pantry and mobile food banks because I am not too proud. I pay for much of my pills and vitamins over the counter which comes out to be about the same amount of money as yours for your medicine. I have two prescriptions that I pay the difference for. Check with your part D to see if they can help you with your prescription payments. Last year I filled out my review form and social services never finished it. I found out about it 8 months later when I was able to have time to remember to check on it. There’s many days I only eat once a day. Check into meals on wheels as well.
