That ESC is an Hobbywing 10BL50 .. It's a 50amp not a 45amp and it can run 3s with that motor..Fully programmable.

those holes out the A-arms, move shock bottoms out one hole = stiffer. threaded shock collars would have been nice, there's alternate holes on the shock towers to play with ride height and spring preload, so its more adjustable than you might be initially thinking. try 2 tooth larger on the pinion, leave the electronics alone.

Yes you can make a few adjustments to help it out. Always like to run stock first to show how it runs out the box 👍🏻

reading other comments about the ESC, might go 1-2 tooth smaller pinion to run 3S so the motor has a little head room. for box stock it does look like a pretty good beast

Yeah, i think the ESC is about on its limits with a 3s. I'll have a look at the gearing and see where to go.

Make sure you switch one transmitter on then the truck, and then do the other.

It´s a feisty truck, this one - I think the competition from China helps stop major manufacturers from becoming too complacent and slack - keeps ´em on their toes!

Thanks Maurice, it's a decent truck, it's fast (on 3s) and seems pretty tough. I had a driveshaft fail recently, but you can get them off Aliexpress. I will say though that parts are not as easy to find for these than a regular manufacturer. It may be better to look for something that has better parts support for your boy.

@@russkiebetta No problem....tough choice, there are so many options out there. For something relatively cheap with lots of spares available I'd say the WLtoys 12428 is the best value for money. If you can invest a bit more cash in something. The Arrma 3s range is unbeatable on value for the real deal. So the Granite BLX or Big Rock are better than this Remo Hobby, really fast! And really fun!

Good honest review, Phil. Great to see some better quality coming into these RC's from China. You pointed out the flaws nicely, but overall it looks like you could have a lot of fun with it.
