Honestly, it is my opinion that nobody should buy these cards without an exquisite education on colors fonts stamps etc. These cards are far too expensive unless you spend a TON of time looking at cards and slabs. Trusted sellers. It the price is too good to be true … it’s likely fake.

Aside from all these great things PSA does to help us check for real PSA labels, they really really really need to update their crappy 0.10 cent fragile plastic cases. For the prices they charge, they should give us way better quality casing.

The biggest way to not get scammed is to not buy anything online outside of the Pokemon Center. See the cards in person and educate yourself on the telltale signs of a fake. Rev and Danny Phantump are also trustworthy folks who would be cancelled so fast if they sold a fake card. Stay safe out there folks. Send the scammers to the streets, not a high tax bracket.

So I see a lot of PSA graded slabs on Ebay and they all show the certificate number and the number verifies on PSA for that card. What is stopping scammers from printing multiple fake slabs with multiple fake cards and putting on the original, legit certification number that will always show the buyer that its an original?

It's sad that things like this are becoming more and more common. Not only when it comes to graded cards but also when it comes to booster packs. I have almost completely stopped buying them on e.g. auction sites as I have several times found them to be resealed. These days I mostly buy from well-known stores because it feels safer. You think it shouldn't be that difficult to put something on a card that makes it impossible to forge. Or make the packaging for a booster impossible to reseal without being seen. But then the price would probably increase significantly. Other than that, as usual thanks for all the great videos and content.

I've actually seen a post with this exact card on Reddit. The dead giveaway to everyone who posted was the sticker and the letter G. That authentication verifier is a definite bonus to use that but everyone knows about.

None of the “tips” are going to be permanent identifiers anyway. You have to use common sense. The forgers evolve too. If the card is worth more than a few hundred bucks just don’t rush into it and you’ll usually be fine. And a deal that’s too good to be true…

fun fact: no Stephanie in the world would even buy a 150,000 card for her son! This can only happen if you are a terrible parent and a multi-millionaire but then again millionaires don't spend their money on a whim for their kids! These scammers usually use women names to make you feel at ease. They also create a "story" about a son or whatever that owns a card or something and they always ask naïve questions like "is this worth anything?" "is Ebay the proper platform to sell it" etc. Thanks for the video!

I would asked how old is your son and where is he now? If her son was an adult and he passed away, it is possible that she found his card collection after losing him. That is the only way it could be a psa 10 and she have no idea what its worth. After this, then id inspect the card and case details.

The hanger is called a serif. PSA exclusively uses fonts that are sans-serif.
