Not Again!!! Coolant Transfer Pipe Leaks - BMW 760i E65

I used the URO pipe in my 760i about a year ago , ~3K mi. So far it is holding up just fine. I had to sand the block slightly for the pipe to sit in the cavity without touching the walls and I used some RTV on the seal at the front for added protection! It's a big job... you made it look easy!

I hope it will last longer then my DIY repair :D It's not that hard of a job but it takes a lot of time to do.

Hi, nice and inspiring video again! I have a leak at pump level, but I don't know if the pipe seal is the culprit cause it has been changed 60k ago by the AGA Tools expensive telescopic pipe. I did not see any valley pan and return pipe bill from the ex owner, maybe this is where the leak comes from. I will disassemble and check, it will be the opportunity to check leaks on cylinders and clean the injectors too. Allready get the good cleaner, just need to find an affordable tool to change the seals. I spend my time on this engine, but I would never change this car :D

Thanks! Easiest way is to remove the water pump pully and blow air from the weeping hole. There should be bubbling from the coolant reservoir if the front seal is leaking. I have had an issue with the rubberized pipe that connects the water pump to the coolant crossover pipe. Have used all the manufacturers that are available and they all leaked. Used BMW OE one and it's fixed. Really annoying! About the injector seals. I made my own when I first overhauled the engine. Probably a lot cheaper to find a machinist to make it for you.

You can also take your injectors to the BMW dealer and they will swap the seals. Not that expensive also.

@SATS Motors high knock values on live data. Hesitation from a standstill. Also hesitation throughout mid-powerband. I come from e38 platform. M73tu. This is my 1st n73. I'm a bmw dealer technician and my co-workers think I'm crazy for having two v12s . Haha. N73 is bmws best kept secret. I have a small channel call H&S automotive.

Used an O-ring for the front seal. Didn't hold up that well.

Hi I would like to ask it, What was the hole where you blew it in because unfortunately my bmw e65 750i is leaking water there for some reason?

@@Bmwe65owner it so-called weep hole. If you google bmw weep hole then you will see a lot of information about it. The one where I blew some air in was for the coolant transfer pipe. If air gets to the cooling system from there then it is leaking.

@@Bmwe65owner then most likely the front seal of this pipe is leaking. The easiest is to do the same as me. Replace the pipe with an aftermarket telescope one.

i have the same problem on mij e65 2005. but how do you remove the wiring looms on top of the valve covers?

I didn't remove the wiring loom for this job. I just raised it. You need to unplug all the sensor plugs from top of the valve cover and in front of the engine.

You probably will need to sync the DME and EWS. Can be done with most diagnostic systems.

Nice!! I would recommend a 80 celsius degree thermostat. Helps to maintain the other gaskets and seals with less heat on them.

That was my thought as well. Next time the water pump comes of will install a low temp thermostat
