That’s what I have exactly in my 95 379 exhd. I love mine. I had a spinal fusion and it’s actually more comfortable for me at the 12 inch extension to shift. Plus I can rest my arm occasionally on the chrome piston knob I put on. Keep on trucking Reed. I got over 40 in the rear view

Reedo! Get you a 6 or a 9. It changes the throw and makes it easier while running through the gears. I knocked them for a long time, and then I tried it. Won’t ever have another one without it. I do agree however, that the 12” is to long. Love the videos, brother. Keep it real! God bless!!!

Hey ya Reed! You'll get used to the shifter extension. Depending how you ride in your seat kinda depends how high you'll want it. I roll with 9" in my ol KW and love it!

I hope Lunchbox is ok. Years ago my horse had tedonitis and I had to stall him and wrap legs for six months. He healed nicely and lived a happy 30 years.

I had an 04 379L. I bought it used and it came with a stock stick and a 22 inch steering wheel. It's not as flashy, but I liked it!

Shifter extensions came along with automatic transmissions become the standard for fleet trucks. Like people have to show they have a manual transmission. Idk. I've trucked 20 plus years and love the automatic transmissions. Each their own. Love the channel

Reed, 9 inch is the way to go. Gives it enough throw while still maintaining practicality. Or you can look into sh tune out of Kentucky and have a custom built one to your height. All the airline is ran inside the tube for a cleaner look and they’re lighter than a factory stick. Currently running a custom made 33 inch shifter from them and love it thus far, kind of pricey but a Clean and smooth look. Just my thoughts from one “trucker” to another. Safe travels

I had SHTube build me a double bend about 9” longer than stock with the .44 caliber shells inlay up both sides the shifter. Then I added my shifter top (chrome of course). Best part of the SHTube shifters is they run the air lines inside the tube so it’s a clean look. (They do it for like $25 or something like that). Some guys are actually cutting the shifters down to make them shorter, it’s all in your style.

Negative on the tall shifter Reedo I like to use it as a hand rest myself. It would be very hard to rest my hand there if it was head high.

I vote, once y’all get all the parts, run it for a trip or two to see how it feels. I personally think it’ll help in comfort. I want to put one in my Freightliner @ work but: 1) it’s a Co truck 2) it’s a 2009= 3) because California, we’ll only be able to run this truck a couple more years.

41 years looking over the hood of a 'K-Wobble '. I always like the stick short and close. Took a torch to a some to put a few 'custom' bends in them so they would just miss the seat and my leg. Another custom touch I always like to do was put a 'Jake' switch down on the right side of the shift nob, just about everyone that would drive my truck want one afterwards. Haul'n log on these roads here in the NW at times your right hand doesn't leave the shifter miles. Never liked those jake switches on the floor. Had a 'truck boss' tell me I would get use to it, I told him when you are coming down one of these 'goat trails' loaded your just trying to stay in the seat, you ain't gotta pick both feet off the floor to put one on brakes and one on the jake.

We always used absorbine and wrapped them with an ace bandage not to tight on all our using horses because they got hauled a lot to and from rodeos.
