The infrastructure showing the culture of other counties isn’t bad, especially if it’s a minority of all the buildings in the Philippines. I’d rather see those buildings since they have character over the soulless-looking buildings. The buildings that lack any cultural or aesthetic appeal-there’s just no character and it’s boring to look at. I do hope that they’ll build more infrastructure that represents the Filipino culture, whether that’s Spanish Colonial Era inspired architecture or Austronesian architecture. The bahay na bato look isn’t bad since it’s supposed to be a blend of the Spanish, Chinese, and Austronesian architectural influences on the country. Although, if we really want to do something about future infrastructures looking nice and representing the culture, we’d have to petition and lobby for it. Talk to organizations and influential ppl that already advocate for it so we can all take action.
