NOT exactly just snap in fit. e-cowlboy JEEP wrangler grille inserts review and install on a 2017 JK

The "e-cowlboy" brand JEEP wrangler grille inserts review and install on a 2017 JK are Not exactly snap in place product as advertised.
I bought this on amazon: E-cowlboy 7PCS Front Grill Mesh Inserts Clip-in Grille Guard for 2007-2017 Jeep Wrangler JK JKU Sport Freedom Rubicon Sahara Unlimited (Matte Green)
The seller description describes the product as "custom fit-perfect fit, perfect design, easy to install just press and insert until clip is fully engaged" That isn't exactly what the directions say, para phrasing, the directions tell you to twist, bend, and manipulate until snaps into place.
Truth is: the clips never reach the area of engagement with the grille assembled. The factory inserts need to be removed before installing the E-cowlboy 7PCS Front Grill Mesh Inserts and even then the process is tedious and if like the set I received, will require a bonding agent.
The clip tabs are actually weak and that is partially due to them being attached to a flimsy sidewall of the insert. Top that off with a sidewall angle that is off just enough that if you get the clips on one side to engage the others will not and it is bowed out and away from the side of the factory insert you are trying to attach to. My first thought was small screws from the backside (but that will forever damage the factory inserts) my crude solution was a clear boding agent. It took about 3 hours to complete.

My problem is that I dont have my factory inserts, do you know some inserts that will fit without the factory inserts?
