as someone who worked in broadcast tv, i find this to be extremely attractive. lingo: preview screen (the middle one) is what happens next. program screen (the one on the right) is what's happening now, for the viewer. the rapid confusion you've experienced during the broadcast is real and happens often. production script is measured in seconds and frames. the longer one has to set up for the next event, the better. thanks for the review, mate!

@@OverlordZephyros hiya, thanks for asking. in large markets, the director sits next to the technical director. one has the script for the show, and issues commands. the other is hands-on, running the mixing board and punching sources in and out. I was in lower market, local tv, so the D and TD were the same person. so, all of the above, short answer. it was exciting and fun, but there wasn't much money to be made doing it. working in live tv was a blast. I miss it, often.

It is actually Fox News that is known for the slogan "Fair & Balanced", which they dropped without fanfare in 2017 since it was used to mock them so much. And you're also trying to depend Fox News by listing legal trouble at CNN..? sorry friend... that's completely laugh worthy. The president is trying to remove all checks and balances. That's much scarier than any news media. Seriously, it's important for everyone to take a look at history, particularly how all dictators and other leaders of large amounts of people and see how they work. Creating a distrust in the media is par for the course. Trust knows this, although I think his #1 reason for directing his base to hate the media is his own out of control ego.

We used to do 'noddies 'etc in broadcast but with the rise of digital stock (in the last 10 years) and cheaper cameras, it's standard practice to have at least a two camera setup (2x PXW-FS7 for instance) running simultaneously. The only editing for documentary / IV content is cutting between the best reactions as they happen - other than cutting down the content to fit the segment as required of course. So thankfully most broadcast production houses do things this way for this type of content. 'Reality' TV still follows the old style, or rather they take any old reaction shot and put it where they want it for maximum effect. Reality is the only 'fake' TV that sadly consumes the most resources these days - but I digress. Live 'editing' for news environments doesn't really exist either. There is a vision switcher who follows the lead of the director and the timing of the DA. This game looks like a studio with VS, DIR and DA. Pretty neat though! I'll be sure to check it out.

I have worked as a news editor and a technical director for years and this is actually a combination of those two jobs. When you are working with multiple cameras in a live environment, the choice between what to take and what not to take is a split second decision and if you screw up there is no covering your mistakes because it just went out on the air and your boss probably just saw it in his office. The game sort of captures that tension. I lived it for 20 years.

Not for Broadcast is a very stressful game, but it brings the right amount of entertainment and indeed: A breath of fresh air as it is a concept that is different from all the games we’re getting today. A game that’s similar in nature might be “Night Trap”? The adverts are wacky, the actors for the National Nightly News (Especially Jeremy Donaldson) were great. Overall: I must agree that this game is indeed: Worth A Buy. P.S. The Lockdown update basically took the 2020 lockdown and used it as a plot point for the game. I give them credit for this clever way of staying optimistic and productive, while making hilarious content.
