The wig by itself does not look that natural but as soon as you skillfully blended your own pieces of hair in the front it totally became "you". Amazing, I learned a lot about wearing wigs from this.

I love your gray hair. I'm in my 50s but don't have a lot of gray. My hair is very dark brown and some stylists would want me to lighten it but I don't want the commitment. So it's going to be the color it wants to be.

What a transformation, loved it. You are so beautiful with your natural grey hair too !
@cathywarner92637 жыл бұрын
Monique, you look beautiful with your gray/white hair. I would call it more silver. It is really striking and you look like a million bucks with your natural hair. I am not a natural person, as I color my hair, but if my hair was like yours, I'd never color it. It is so glamorous and a standout. My mother used to color her white hair, until her white took over. At first it was a little shocking, but then women were trying to copy her look. She owned it. I could always find her when we were shopping because she stood out. Anyway, I enjoy your videos, as you get to the point and don't buy all the products in the world to get your look. It is staggering what one can spend on beauty. Everybody should use concealer, brows, and lips before leaving the house. You rock!

I've given some thought to the comments that Monique should dye her hair brown so that people would think she was younger. This is a standard response, drilled into us by the mass-marketing of hair dye over the last six decades. At the same time tha this has happened, study after study has shown that hair dye is highly toxic. Why else do you think beauticians use rubber gloves while they are rubbing that toxic sludge into the most porous organ in our bodies, right next to our brains? Even so, why are hair dressers among the highest risk groups of professions to come down with Early Onset Alzeheimers? And have greatly multiplied risks of bladder cancer, as well as Lymphoma and other cancers? And tests have shown that at most, people guessing someone's age are vary by only three years, depending on whether their hair is grey or dyed. Not to mention that it easily costs over a thousand dollars a year to maintain. So really, when a man, (who avoids all the health hazards, annoyance and expense of putting that toxin on his scalp, right next to his brain) asks his women to dye her hair to suit him, what he is really saying is: "Honey. I don't care that you'll double your chances of getting arthritis after a decade of dyeing, and after two decades some studies have shown you'll be five times as likely to get bladder cancer, plus a significant increase in other cancers and an increase in a bunch of other diseases like Parkinson's, I really want you to dye your hair a solid wall of brown which will almost instantly result in a tell-tale Skunk Stripe, so my proxy vanity will be appeased and other men who don't know you will pretend that I robbed the cradle, when really all they're thinking is that I married someone three years younger than me. Monique looks uniquely beautiful for a 50-year old-woman. She does not have a solid brown helmet with a white stripe running down her hairline. Women who have gone through the pain of the grow-out have committed a radical act: that of saying: "I'm going to be me. Genuinely, authentically, and without being bullied by the dye marketers into applying something they knowingly sell which they in fact know is an empty promise. Only last month, I had yet another hairdresser try to talk me into dyeing my hair, because 'people' would guess me to be much younger!" "Oh really, I asked and how old do you think I am?" -Late 40s? Wrong. I'm 60 and proud of it. Young women are dyeing their hair grey and everyone is going "Oooo! How lovely, even though they've fried their hair and its one solid shade, supplemented by extensions because a lot of their own length was destroyed by the bleaching. When do we get to stop all the Bullshit? When do we get to stop rubbing poison on our heads so that men we don't even know can play the game of "Guess my age?". If men really knew the hazards of dye and their feelings for their wife went beyond proxy vanity, they wouldn't ask her to use it. Why not Google with search words like: cancer +hair dye, or Parkinsons + hair dye and Alzheimer's +hair dye? Or watch my documentary and find out the real deal about hair dye. Your videos are improving. Also, it's fun to watch you transform. When I can, I like to check in on my talent sitting with the MUA's and watch the stylists work. For you, I think the dark, longer hair frames your face really well; it's interesting as much as your embrace of your short gray hair is exciting and different. Confidence is always sexy and you've always seemed confident. Keep it up, Monique.

You look great with you gray and I disagree with all the comments that you look much younger with the brown hair. You look the same age with both but the gray is stunning! Thanks for the video. My question: Does the spray paint stain your gray? Also to be fair at the end of this video I would have on the left a photo of you with the gray ombre wig and make up from another video that is fantastic of yours and on the right the photo of you with the brown wig.

I'm trying to go grey. I'll be 60 June 4th. My hair color is dark brown. It has been light brassy brown for about three years now. I love the silver that my hair is turning. It's beautiful but I'm skunky looking on top and sides😞😞My husband said to just let it go grey. He's so sweet. However, my son is getting married in 5 weeks. I don't want to dye it just for the wedding. What is that color spray you're using? I'm sorry but I can't hear you well.

Fascinating! I happen to be a mature daily wig-wearer, for medical reasons. I switch up my wig colors all the time--red, blonde, blonde rooted, brown---but I haven't tried gray yet. Seems a strangely phony wig color for a woman my age (your age plus ten or so). Right...think about it for a moment. Still, doing my makeup today, in dark auburn hair, felt challenging. I've been blonde for the last few months, using light makeup, especially around the eyes. (Secret: eye ageing may well account for a lot of older "blond" women. Some of us just aren't blessed with hair--of any color--after menopause. So I wonder how you "coped" with this brunette transformation, after experimenting with your relatively new gray hair. (I wonder, too, whether I'd like myself in a great silver-gray wig. It's an option, when one is nearly hair-free!) PS: I just discovered your channel--LOVE your videos, especially the rambling, damned real ones.
