On the point of Stella, the strong resemblance to Sarah in design and her title of "The Bridge Between Worlds" could mean that this is a new generation game with a split between old characters and new characters with Stella being the bridge between them as she is new but strongly takes influence from Sarah through the lore whatever that might be.

One thing that I was very interested in was the head of RGG studios saying that both games they announced will have their signature story telling and world building. Between that and them showing the characters fighting in the streets of what looks like the same small town from the trailer tells me we might be getting a full on RGG style single player campaign for VF(which would push fighting game single player mode forward to an insane degree)

Your comment made me realize something that would be extremely innovative: what is, instead of multiple stages, the entire game was in an open world that is one giant stage? Kind of like how in street fighters world tour mode you can get into a fight anywhere, except since it's a 3D game it would actually matter where the fight starts and where the boundaries are . Now that would be pretty innovative

The blocking aimation is insane. Can't wait to see Lei Fei's animation for the blocking. VF was always known for their capture of fluid animation and now inlcudes blocking. It will look more like a real martial arts movie. Lets go!!!

I know most people never played these two games: but Shaolin vs Wutang and it's sequel did this as well and the crazy thing is they were low budget indie fighting games made primarily by one dude. So yeah when you'd hold block, it's show actual hand and leg partying animation and even dodge animation (which reminds me: Dragonball Budokai 3 did dodge animation on block too)

@budgiecat9039 The reason I believe Sega never did this before is because there has to be a different blocking animation for each attack and there are so many permutations. Indie games can pull it off cause there are less characters in the roster with less moves

Out of the ashes, you WILL rise again! And I believe Virtua Fighter will be the one to do it! Anyway, when I first saw that trailer with my friends, I said "This is how you DO make a teaser trailer!" They gave us a glimpse of its gameplay in the works with two people playing it in the dark. I know it's not unheard of, but I'm glad they took the time to prepare for us what we really wanted to see.

I hope that they go with environmental interactions, only the Dead or Alive games did them but they were almost always crazy and over-the-top, having fully interactive, grounded, realistic environments while also sticking to the complex mechanics and locked 60 frames per second would be quite unique.

I hope hope hope the way-more-natural-looking animation is just part of their innovation. IIRC, VF was the first to implement unique blocked move animations and throw break animations (along with quite a few other things that other 3D games.... "were inspired by"). If throws look more natural, it'll be like Law's f+2+3 to the Nth degree. Loving the new DOA/T4 stages. Bound to be some weird T4-garage-pillar stuff on some, but games can be _patched_ now. And if Vanessa doesn't come back or she doesn't have a Stella-like "replacement", I'm rioting. Also... OMG Turok! OMG Okami!

What I hope RGG puts into VF6 is their style. Like, I hope it doesn't sound rude because it is your favorite franchise, but the character designs are a little sauceless. But what they did with Akira is already really cool and oozes the style that like a dragon pulls off. Obviously I still want it to be clearly Virtua Fighter, but stuff like Street Fighter 6 has shown that you can evolve your characters to look badass in a new design while still being unmistakenly them. Nobody will misread SF6 Ryu as anything but Ryu. And I want that for VF6.

Yeah one thing i think the like a dragon franchise does really well is give every major character design a flair to them that really helps them pop out (even if it is sometimes a bit ugly like aktusu from lost judgement) so i'd trust the RGG team for any redesigns for the VF roster

Hey bro I'm here showing ya some support. I adopted my autistic nephew 8 yrs ago. We bond over fighting games. They did wonders for his dexterity issues, the dr is even recommending other kids like him to play fighting games because how much he improved. As a Zillennial VF enjoyer, I believe I TRULY am the youngest VF fan. Also, yeah. VF4 got me into FGs. The series has been in Tekken's shadow ever since T3. It's time it's given its flowers among the overall gaming audience (specifically because FGC old heads and the media who've reviewed VF already know how good it is). I just wanna see it earn the respect it deserves. Maybe even shed the misconception that you need be able to write a doctoral thesis on the series before you can enjoy it.

Considering this is pre-alpha the game is looking incredible. I hope it comes by the end of 2025, I really want a populated 3D game to invest time in. My theory is RGGS is adding an extensive single player mode where we walk around a city and that street stage is part of it. I don't imagine every stage will be this narrow and cluttered.

What we can also probably confirm is NVidia is probably involved, so this may be levereging some of their tech for VF there. ( like ray traced reflections - bird eye and water, dlss, maybe AI when it comes to the specific blocking mentioned, etc.)
