The Krone is made in the small town of Spelle Germany. With the Krone in dry conditions back the pto rpm down if you haven’t already , normally that helps resolve the windrowing issue. Max rpm is 540 but recommend operating range is actually 350-450. Nice video, shows how specs can be misleading.

Nice Heavy Duty Tedder, Tough decision to keep it or move up to a larger unit. Kina depends on acreage and the farm budget. We run Vermeer TE1710 and have good results with the Hook Tines that really flips and throws the hay, independent hydraulic tilt, but with single acting folding cylinder and a long driveshaft. It's really nice to have the independent tilt cylinder for ruts and dips in the field.

@@damjord because 3pt equipment is more difficult to hook and unhook when you need to switch the tractor to different implements throughout the day. @@DLHFarms I agree 100% - 3 point is a pita for hitching/unhitching. We have a 5.2m Fendt 4 rotor 3-point mounted tedder. We've had that same conversation on a 4 basket or 6 basket but ultimately the money just never makes sense for us. I found that the bushings and pins wore extremely fast on the pequeas and parts were also harder to get and just as high as krone. I love the 8 star krone i have now. I haven't measured the width of mine but I am pretty sure I will be aggravated just like you, their website says working width 18'-2'' that needs to be change to the correct dimension. The only thing I don't like is it traps hay between the band and the top shield on the tedder arms it is not excessive I use a leaf blower and blow it out pretty easy unless the hay is wet. It does work well in wet hay and I haven't had any problems with it wind rowing hay. If you decide to keep it I think you will be happy with the performance and durability of the machine. I’m not a farmer just to put that out there. I use to cut grass for money. It’s all about time and money. I’d say this to each how many more passes to you have to make with the shorter one? The other question is if the smaller has a faster time speed does it not then matter. Meaning will it spread the hay farther than the Krone? I like that the fact that the Krone is lighter that way it’s a little more fuel-efficient in might to pull behind. Do they both run at the same engine RPM speed to get the tines to move? If the smaller one needs a higher RPM to get that faster tines speed that’s going to burn a little fuel along with it’s extra weight. Now I don’t farm, I’m just a viewer but those are the questions that I might have. From all the videos I’ve seen you use with that Krone it has done a very good job. Not entirely sure what to make of this. Maybe they should've made the guards larger, at least then they could have technically correctly advertised a 22' tedder... Grmpfh. But I know that if I see a "Not Happy!" in your video title I know there's some beef to be had! Was it the Krone tedder where the dangling hose caused you grief? If so, do you think the new tedder solved that problem?
@DLHFarms3 жыл бұрын
No the hose problem was on the Kubota rake but I’ve got that fixed.

we have the same problem with our JD drawbar is really low the tedder is almost level. but when we hook up to the kubota its a big difference and you also get a better tedding job. look like the pequea has changed a little since we bought ours and some good and some bad. like that comparison video. dont always get good comparison videos cause a lot of them are made by different ag companies and they favor theres and bash the other brands. have a blessed day

@artszabo10153 жыл бұрын
Dennis, there may be other variables to consider. Possibly the Pequea will ted at 9 mph while the Krone does best at 8 1/2 mph thereby more than compensating for the narrow width. Another possibility is actual tedded width. Measure the actual tedded path behind each one, there could be a slight angle difference in the two causing functional difference in width. I am not a farmer but I do like the features of the Pequea. Art

The proof of the pudding will be in the eating. I have noticed on several US sites that a lot of the grassland machinery comes from Euope, most likely because Europe is heavy into grass especially silage with up to 10 tons per acre, Krone is one of the leading European grassland machinery makers and is based in Germany.
