In the early 1990s I took my wife to Key West. I had spent a lot of time fishing, conching, and spear fishing there and up and down the Keys back in the 1980s. I had trouble finding a dive boat that would accommodate a spear fishermen, but one shop had some old Hawaian slings, and I grabbed one and went out with a bunch of scuba divers and snorkelers. I ended up spearing an enormous grouper and boating it. Most of the other divers were unkind about it. The one guy who was supportive went home with enough grouper filet for his wife and him for two days. It’s nice to see Key West again has a spearfishing tradition.

Been there with a 28lbs red snapper in a reck at 90’… If I didn’t have scuba I would’ve never recovered the fish!!! My hats off to you and your videos brother!
