I just eat once a day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. I fast on Mondays and Fridays. Saturday I will eat and Sunday too sometimes or maybe nothing but a snack. It's not hard. There's also health benefits to calorie restriction. I have no car note because I drive an older car that gets me where I need to go, my rent is paid with one paycheck, and I have no bad habits: titty bars, hoez, drugs, partying, etc.

Things are strange right now. The US dollar is becoming less valuable because of inflation, and other powerful nations waking up to trade in their own currencies. Good thing is, a lot of people still turn to the Dollar because of the safety is somehow assures. I'm worried about my retirement savings of about $420,000 losing value because of these factors and more. Where else can we keep our money?

Well, I suggest you make a diversification plan because it's been harder to build a good portfolio that stays afloat since COVID. Personally, I garner knowledge from a brokerage Adviser whom I work with, and I've actually made over $350K with their help since February. Very effective defensive strategies are used to protect my portfolio and make profits despite the ups and downs.

Agreed the role of advisors can only be overlooked, but not denied. I remember in early 2020, during covid-outbreak, my portfolio worth around $300k took a slight fall, apparently due to the pandemic crash, at once I consulted an advisor in order to avoid panic-selling. As of today, my account has yielded big fat yields, and leverages on 7-figure, only cos I delegate my excesses right.

When I was growing up in South Florida back in the 1980s you were seen as low income if you lived in an apartment---even a decent one. People only lived in apartments if they couldn't afford a house, and lived there till they saved enough money to buy one. Now 35 years later apartments are a luxury and you're lucky if you can even afford one. In Florida the price of one has shot up literally 10 times what they were in the late 1980s. Yet the minimum wage has barely budged. It's ridiculous. Pretty soon having a place to LIVE will be a luxury.

Look for food banks , food shelves, food pantries. Apply for Food stamps. Look for churches, some churches will help with daycare and helping to feed your family. There is always help out there. I know working full time, it isn’t easy to find help but in America, no one should be going hungry because there is food out there that organizations are willing to give. Keep working hard, eventually you will break through this and things will become easier if you keep your chin up and have a strong work ethic.

Find like-minded good personality family members or friends and move in together. Don't wait for the gov't to figure things out for you. Use your smarts and creativity. Remember, for millions of years, humans have always been interdependent with families or tribes. There is no such thing as "independent". Independence means death because you got no support system. The fact that some people in our society push the "independent" philosophy is stupid. They only make their own life hard and struggle. Become interdependent and learn to compromise and cooperate. Those are the true skills of survival.

Be the change you want to see in the world and don’t let failure be your final destination..... Grow from your experiences and share them with the world..... A wise woman once said that! Times like these build character but only if we let them. I used to stop at Dunkin on the way to work, 5x a week, yeah I got points and some freebies, but that was the crack that kept me coming back. Counting tips it was like $30 a week, because that's my coffee time d*mmit, and I'm worth it! Nowadays a dollar here and a dollar there can make a difference. I decided to adjust and improve my life since I was paying attention to ME anyway. I went to Walmart and bought 18oz of Starbucks and a $15 French press for about what my weekly coffee bill was, maybe $10 more. That makes me over 50 cups at 2 Tbs per 6oz (Strong coffee) my thermos holds about 15oz so that's 20 cups, 20 days worth for the price of 5 (French press is paid for in one week!) So, I'm drinking Starbucks and LOVING IT (there isn't a drive through here) and I have $90 a month "extra" Ready for the zinger? 10% inflation adds $10 to every $100 I spend in a YEAR but only $0.84 every month (10%/12 months) Dividing my $90 savings by 84c (inflation per Benjamin) I find over a hundred "units" for easy math that's 100x100. Just *improving my coffee life* BOUGHT DOWN INFLATION on $10,000 worth of spending! I don't spend $10k a month, not close. ... be the change! Another thing I did is replace one stick of butter in a pound cake with margarine. So it's 3/4# butter and 1/4# margarine. I can't tell the difference, nobody knew but me. That little savings bought down all of the inflation for the month on a hundred dollars worth of spending - again, with ZERO SACRIFICE! Be the change you want to see in the world and don’t let failure be your final destination..... Grow from your experiences and share them with the world....

What kind of jobs are people looking for? I tell my kids to look at what jobs pay well (and are realistic) and study or work toward that sheet. Work is not for fulfillment; it's to give you the life you want to live when you clock out. I'm baffled as to which jobs don't allow upward movement if you're working your tail off. I'm genuinely asking everyone who agrees with OP to give me examples of the types of jobs that haven't had rate increases since the 2000s.
@nobodysbusiness3533
@nobodysbusiness3533 2 жыл бұрын
@@yourerightimwrong4567 I agree that working is about the necessity to survive and maintain, but if you are just surviving you are not living. I don't know how old your children are but I applaud you for telling them to look into their desired career. However, bare in mind that they are not the only ones looking into career fields that pay well. This causes a high rate of applicants and ultimately longer periods of finding a position if they even acquire one. Most entities that allow for moving up in the company stress the essential of having a four year degree that fits into open positions within the company. The average cost of college per year is almost $30,000. Obviously, that number will be different if you choose a more desired University. Depending on how many credit hours you are able to accomplish each semester will determine when you successfully complete your degree. If you're lucky enough to apply and receive a grant you will still pay the majority out of pocket. Now, who pays the out of pocket cost? The student. Most students prefer in classroom schedules over online education. This means that they will have to find a job that will meet their scheduling needs which is difficult. For example, a fast food restaurant or a retailer position part time is typically suitable. The mentioned jobs do not even pay a rate that is comparable to the cost of living. Jane snuffy or Joe blow will likely have to make a decision of whether to attend college or maintain a job for minimal survivability. Your question of rate increases is null when it doesn't account for the cost of living. Nor does it apply to the semester fees that one must provide in order to try to get ahead in life. I suppose the previous commenter failed to factor in. The complaints are NOT about working. It's about working with the possibility of being able to live. No one is asking to be paid a six figure salary to flip burgers, bust tables, or hang clothes at target. The request is simple and justified. Pay people a rate that matches the increase in cost of living. I find it tiring when people stand in their echo chamber screaming "Well, go to college and find a better paying job." How? What is your solution to this growing problem? Before you ask me what my solution would be just refer back to my comments about paying a fair wage in this economical diarrhea that we live in. I appreciate your response to my comment and I'm open to anything that you have to say. You seem like the type of person that can hold a conversation with civility and intelligence.

There's a theory that small farms being allowed to compete in the agricultural market could cut costs, like capitalism is intended to do. They're usually snuffed out by agricultural behemoth corporations, as it stands. I think antitrust laws need to be enforced, and the IRS needs to be able to measure estates to tax them appropriately. It's not hard to see that corporations are making huge amounts of money off the backs of manipulated workers. We also need to raise the minimum wage, because corporations haven't done it for us. Unionize. Be wise about union-busting techniques, so you can avoid them successfully. You have a right to unionize.

Unions accomplish very little aside from robbing you blind through union membership costs. they waste money in endless litigation with owners that never gets the common worker anything, and the attorneys unions hire laugh all the way to the bank with fistfuls of your money. In the rare case they actually finally *WIN* some perceived benefit/wage raise for the workers, the gain is offset by >the cost of what it took to legally acquire it >the *settlement* that is always WAY less than what the original request was. the only modern-day unions I've ever seen that had an arguable amount of success were the railroad unions and the foundry/metallurgy unions, because the country couldn't function without them (causing massive disruption and civil unrest for the government to force a wage raise and safety requirements) the rest are either corrupt or a waste of money.

Someone has to explain to me why rent is increasing so much. Tenants usually pay for utilities so what specifically is causing it? Housing supply didn't change in the last few months. I don't see the correlation. Try to help me understand. A building is owned by Jim and he rents a unit for $1,000 a month. A bank buys the building from Jim and they raise the price? Why? Why didn't Jim raise the price if people were willing to pay it? Is Jim "nicer" than the bank? Was Jim too stupid to see rent rising around him and didn't think to make more money on his investment

I love how many times this White House rep said “let’s face it” about issues we are facing. But we won’t face them. We won’t. We will continue to give wealthy people a ton of tax breaks while we turn away from them. They will get worse and the American people will suffer. This administration is awful

If we had a better medical system and affordable public transportation, it would be easier, except for rent. 2008 still hurting. People lost homes and banks were bailed out, without any rules or laws. Rich are doing fine, but everyone else, especially Millenials not. Too many jobs sent overseas. Minimum wages are not enough to live on!!!

If people want to understand why we have wealth inequality and high cost of living look no farther then the Federal Reserve. Their the one who increase tbe Currency supply every time they write a void check and buy Bonds or mortgage back securities or whatever asset class they choose.

Sorry Jake but shipping our jobs overseas to Chinese workers paid slave labor in a ln authoritarian government is not the solution. Plus, the lock down policies and housing and bank collapses in China are arguably what have put us in this position, as well as the war in Ukraine. Wouldn't it better to be less dependent on foreign markets?

It will only get worse, and I hope it ruins the lives of those responsible that make life even more difficult. May this whole thing collapse!!!! The best thing people can do is not play the stupid game anymore... let the system fail. With enough people NOT working the system will eventually collapse and we will finally agree upon a superior system that actually benefits everyone!!! #ResourceBasedEconomy, #Automation, #Hydroponics, #SocioCyberEngineering, #VenusProject, #JacqueFresco
