I feel so bad for the persecutors. They get such a bad rap. To me it seems like persecutors are the part of you that maybe you would have become if they wouldn't have taken that trauma on for you. A lot of people develop unhealthy coping mechanisms and can turn mean or vindictive when we experience trauma. It seems like when the split happened, the persecutor took on all that trauma that would have surfaced in a bad way and locked it away in themselves. So when they come out people often vilify them, without remembering how awful it would have been if they wouldn't have separated and formed their own identity.

@@gabiklw they have a video titled something like "what happened to our videos" where they explain how this guy that they were working with basically tried to strike every single video of theirs because nin/chloe (cant remember who it was at the time) wasn't romantically interested in him. Thank you for this, people tend to enjoy justifying deflecting from responsibility due to the illness they have and think its ok to do so. its doesn't matter what you have, you need to learn how to take accountability. this is why mental health and therapy is important, this is also how mental illness is prevented. once again thank you.

We knew a system who hurt us and even traumatized various alters in our system as a way to keep us quiet on personal matters and nobody took responsibility for the pain and suffering they caused not only us, but other people as well. It made us self-reflect and want to self-improve as individuals and as a system whole. System responsibility has been a huge part of this self-improvement process because we don't want to deal the type of damage that the other system caused us.

Yeah, an alter once impersonated me and it led to a huge drama and caused me to uh,,, *harm myself haha* The person cussed me out specifically because they thought it was ME, (Nova/Juno) the host. They wouldn’t hear that it wasn’t me and that I didn’t want to start drama and we took accountability and responsibility. I’m honestly scared this’ll happen again on a bigger scale, but I generally get along with my system, so.. hope not.

The way you describe internal communication and joint responsibility for how you present externally sounds very reminiscent of how fully integrated individuals might interact at work within a company. These employees are all individuals, who behave and think differently, and who certainly don't directly control each other's actions. However, they all represent the company, and all share responsibility for each other's actions within that company. If one employee makes a mistake that reflects badly on, or otherwise harms, the company as a whole, then everyone shares the responsibility to rectify it.

Do alters ever lash out against other alters when they have control of the body? I.e. if one alter particularly loves long hair and another alter is mad at that alter and takes control of the body, would they ever lash out and shave their head? What about the child alters? Do they ever get super upset and start trashing things because unlike a normal child there is no adult around to tell them they can't? Can alters sense when one is doing something destructive or insensitive and force their way their way to the front even if they weren't co-conscious?
@paradox13
@paradox13 2 жыл бұрын
Short answer yes; long answer - alters can absolutely take advantage of things they know other parts love, whether that's favorite clothing, an insecurity, or the bodies hair - or even sh - child alters can (and sometimes will) eat too much candy, or trash things, or not do things that need doing, or throw temper tantrums in front of other people etc - and it's mortifying and scary and yes absolutely, some protectors/caretakers are triggered front by dangerous/"bad" situations, so if someone's doing something that the brain tags as negative, it can pull them front.

Not only do they have DID they also live with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I doubt they have the energy to expend on getting a mental health license. They are making themselves knowledgeable about their disorders and at the same time trying to provide accurate info for others. This is exemplary. I applaud the spoons needed for this level of engagement. However don't forget they are getting mentally well, not exactly already mentally well enough to take on a taxing degree program as getting a mental health license.

Usually for something like this, I'd say to first of all, make sure you're safe, then like send them a video maybe from this channel or something to see how they react. You could also like mention it in normal conversation, just as something interesting you heard about. Assuming they react well to that, I'd proceed carefully but slowly tell them about it or various things you're experiencing to again, test the waters and make sure they won't react badly for when you fully tell them Also, in a case like this, I'd recommend that you talk with your alters before telling whatever person and make sure they're on board with it too

'Separate states of awareness, separate states of being' Nin knows somethings, some situations are 'held' by other alters. By my understanding.. That seems... Bad?, As you say it's not fair to have to take responsibility... So why do you have to? Paraphrasing, you're saying: You not having done it doesn't mean you shouldn't take responsibility Hm, so to get any grip on this, let's look towards definitions, because without them we're hopeless. Responsibility: a duty to deal with or take care of somebody/something, so that you may be blamed if something goes wrong A system has a duty to take care of whatever an alter does so that they take the blame if an alter does it Why? I found in the video was that it was because you share one body, but that was never backed up with why having one body would lead to it being another person's responsibility. another wording found in the video is that a system is like a community, and alters are parts of it, and if part of the community messes up they all have to take care of it. Now following that analogy, why? Why would anyone else in that community have to take responsibility AKA have a duty to deal with someone else's bad actions?
