@@collectiveconscious2324 Skolds debut (self-titled (1996)) was revolutionary for the Industrial rock / metal / punk (call it however you want it) and is still way underrated. Marilyn Manson are - next to Ministry and Nine Inch Nails - one of the biggest influences for the same genre(s) [and more]. Their totally unconventional sound, the dark guitars, the metallic drums ... they kind of re-created industrial for a whole new generation. The strobe scenes are intense, trying to watch the choreography in stop motion...this track is definitely capturing the essence of the late 80's/ early 90's Industrial Goth sound...It definitely reminds me a little of Skinny Puppy, and that is a plus...That formula takes me to that place...looking out for more work from this project

No such thing as "industrial goth", it's just that people back than mistaken rivetheads as a offshoot of the goth Subculture when they actually came from the industrial dance scene and industrial dance music which is also known as post-industrial. Industrial isn't goth it is its own Subculture with its own sub genres and origins. Goth and industrial are two separate Subcultures respectively that got lump together because both scenes were shrinking.
@brettinoloverromantico40954 жыл бұрын
ᴍᴏᴜʀɴ they are sub-genre of one another...Goth-Industrial/ Industrial-Goth. You are correct, they were both separate, culturally, but similar, and compatible... By the late 80's, early 90's, there was an integration, and an ecclectic renaissance, which propelled the fusions. The origins of each culture, can be traced back prior to the 1980's, not by a title, but by undefinable artists, who encompassed and invoked a feeling or mood. My original comment was general, loosely stated, but in 2020, you can identify with the term "Industrial-Goth", as a sub genre of either/ or.

I like it a lot, but I continue to miss one of my favorite bands of all time, Shotgun Messiah. Tim Skold and Harry Cody were a dynamic duo for writing some great music in the too short lifespan of the band. A couple of my favorites ever, Second Coming and Violent New Breed albums are freaking amazing! Check them out if you haven't, way different than this stuff, though VNB is an Industrial album. I went in early to the Mirage Nightclub(as I worked nearby)while they were setting up for their show that I had tickets for later that night in support of the Violent New Breed Album, circa 1992. Ended up bumping into and chatting with Tim Skold for an hour at the bar while the roadies did their thing(which was the goal of going in mid afternoon after seeing their bus outside). A super cool, humble dude, and back then had the raddest long hair. I totally idolized him back then too, so I was super stoked on the encounter. Have followed everything he has done and have cd's of all of it. Shotgun Messiah, Skold, KMFDM, MDFMK, Marilyn Manson, back to Skold, and now this of course excites me, because hey, it's mutha fuckin Tim Skold.
