I remember those days when I had downloaded this from KaZaA and was trying to learn it chord by chord. It was one of my first acoustic songs ever learned. I'm a professional musician now who's made a career out of music, and I'll always remember this song and I'll be forever in debt to it. Thanks John!

He's not an a-hole, just a kid growing up who has said some dumb things. Not anything uncommon for a young talented musician. I met him personally 5 years ago and he was really cool and down to earth. I still remember what he said to me-- if you want to sleep with LOTS (and I do mean lots) of women, (with an only half-joking smile) be single like me." I applaud his honesty and candor. It's not for anyone else to judge, he's not married for a reason. Oh, and he's simply epic on the strat..

I love this song, so much. Reminds me of twenty something years ago, back when I had people who loved me. Turns out they couldn't love me, not when I wasn't myself, rather when I was truly myself. It breaks my heart that nobody will love me beyond how I can serve them in their own life. That's nothing but self-interest. I hope I can find someone who loves me as much I love her.

I always listened to this when I had made my girlfriend upset, and just hope she’d realize that I wasn’t myself and I was sorry, and to forgive me and met me come back. She left me, and I’m 15 but still this song has such a place in my heart. She couldn’t stick around to let me change and be better, but there is hope someone will. She was my first love.

Most of the stars get in controversies. Media and cameras cover almost every action of them. No one can live like a saint all the time. If we look our life we do alot of mistakes, alot of time we do or say that shouldn't be done and said but in our case there are only few who notice it. John Mayer may not be a perfect person in real life but his music is divine and perfect. He deserves respect for his good music. The way he uses guitar and lyrics is so divine and pure. He's a great artist.

My first "john mayer" song was sung to me by a guy who only starting out. It was "your body is a wonderland" and id sit at the corner of his bed wishing i could play. Im currently on my way to learning guitar, i cant wait to belt out your body is and then ill feel great! Love this song too :-)

Its amazing how John has grown up and matured musically. You can see him echoing himself during the video and can see how he just wants to let loose but hes just a little to conservative. Now we see him opening up and just being what he wants to be and it has worked out perfectly for him. Never hold back who you want to be.

you are totally right. i have turned some of my friends opinions of him around because he really does have a lot more going for him than some people are willing to realize because of radio hits like "daughters" (which mayer didn't even think should have been a single). he is immensely talented, and more importantly, is constantly reinventing himself. i'll always adore him.

Why would I care about his personal life outside music?...He's one of the most talented guitarists/singer/songwriters of all time.period, and that's why I look up to him , not as a person, but as an incredible musical talent. it's one thing to shred. it's a complete different monster to compose a whole song, even if it is simple, and write lyrics that not only enhance and reflect the melody of the chords but describe EXACTLY what you're feeling. Then after all that, have the guts to throw it out there to the public and make yourself truly vulnerable. That is called art.
