If it was neurologic issue, there would be no options so it being an old delivery damage is the better case. I am also hoping it can be corrected, specially since nobody really expects her to have any more babies.

@@kathleenvadney6217 Boy this hits home. I’m 65 and a retired RN. And have had reproductive issues since my Son was born when I was 23. I had 2 other children but will likely never stop having to have surgeries. Poor baby. I get it. But it was worth every surgery to have my 3 fantastic adults. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

For the mare with the urine burns: what we have used is a combo or stoma powder (like people use around stomas!) that neutralizes it, then slather the area with destine and vasoline that helps to repel the urine and to protect the skin. It wasn't a horse, but a dog who was a hind limp amputee with nerve damage. It helped A LOT. I also put a diaper with suspenders on her to keep her from licking.. but umm... I doubt that horse will have that issue ;)

Ask your vets about putting 'bag balm' on that mare with the urine leak. After she gets cleaned. The stuff in the green can. It has something in it that soothes the pain while also healing.

I feel for bezze, I have had the sort of situation after having my four kids, I had to have 3 c-sections and they damaged my bladder and my womb. Ten years on I ended up needing a have a SPC which means a super pubic catheter. It is where a catheter is inserted just above your pubic bone, and it stay they forever and it gets changed between 4-12weeks it depends on the person. I had mine for 9 months but I had to have my removed as my bladder kept trying to grow skin over the balloon and when ever I tried to move it which you are meant to do each day, it would make me bleed. So the doctor thought it would be better for me to have it removed. So I no longer have, so I now go to the toliet over 16 times a day.

I wonder if it’s possible to remove cataracts from horses eyes like they do in humans, hopefully the vet can find a solution to help the Belgian mare with the bladder problem, and how lovely it is to see little Bobby Magee running around enjoying himself, the chiropractor is such a lovely lady, I love how she interacts with the horses, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧

Doesn't fight for food. Likes to be boss. If the horse stands up for themselves, she'll back down, but if the horse gets pushed around, she'll keep pushing.

Question ❓ Are you not cleaning out their hoof every day??! I am wondering, because I was not familiar with abscess, and it looks like you are used to it.. I would never take a horse out, without cleaning their Hoff.. before and after..

Abscess happen with wet and mucky ground. Cleaning their feet takes part to an extent but we do clean the horses feet out.

We take really good care of our horses and still one of them got a hoof abscess. They were standing on really wet and muddy ground, luckily we moved them to another stable and they have hard ground and grass under their feet again.

I enjoy cranberry raisins in my warm oatmeal. If powder is not available. Talk to the local grocery stores about "expired" cranraisins. They are still safe if they aren't too far out of date.

Beezee (sp?) Would zinc nappy cream help to protect the skin? I would try plastering it on for a couple of weeks. It should help protect the skin from urine and possibly even keep some of it from leaking into places it should not go. If nothing else it will be almost instant relief for the stinging, burning of the skin she will currently be living with.

I also use it for my horse with sweet itch. It's cheap, safe and works wonders and it's so safe for babies and animals. It's worth a try.
