What's the point? They aren't giving out prizes. Make sure you don't call 911.
True that...and it's nothing to "be tough" with... It's the human body vs incredibly dangerous forces that bodies aren't meant to withstand. If we were superhuman, we'd be able to survive much more. If these people survive it may be days or weeks before someone can reach them. Snacks aren't going to do it and sewage will become an issue. I'm over 50 and I have never heard warnings like this before from government officials. They typically do everything they can to avoid creating panic. So when they say get out and your life depends on it... 🙏🏼 🤷🏼♀️ It's big.

Months without power, then 2 yrs in a trailer...if a "native" floridian says, "meh, its nothing," do yourself a favor, and don't listen to them. Milton is different and they were told this a thousand times by now. Already there's tornado's buzzing around, a 15 ft water surge plus 2 ft of rain with 150 MPH wind coming while there's debris left from Helene everywhere. Anything could happen here, it's like a disaster movie directors sandbox. Cinder blocks, sheet metal, lumber, glass, etc etc flying around and....... "I have a flashlight and some water, I'm ready." Commentator: "Do you think you have what you need to make it through this?" Her reply "No." C'mon. If they make it they'll be on their patio screaming for help Friday afternoon with no water, food, electricity, communication and blame it on FEMA or government officials while rescuers risk their lives to save you. Hope she reads this and gives her pets to someone at a shelter, they have no choice in this.

I feel like she had every. single. reason. (combined)... to evaluate: People she cares about with her, her pets, she lives on the river, she's only been in Florida for a few months and never been through it... Idk what happens when people dont heed warnings. I'm just mystified by this. I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm keeping track of a few to see how this works out for them. There's stubborn, and unknowing, but there's also plain old free will ... which sometimes doesn't always work out that well. It makes me incredibly sad that she's following people in the building rather than following her gut. I was even more sad to hear her call herself stupid. All we can do is pray for her and her family and neighbors 🙏🏼 before, during, and after.

I now reside in Florida on the east coast. I have been through about 13 hurricanes in my life while living in New York, Florida and Mexico. If I were living in Tampa, I would have gone more inland. The biggest danger in a hurricane is the flooding. The biggest difference between a hurricane and a tornado is that a tornado lasts a short time in most cases while a hurricane lasts hours.

She needs to change her mind and leave with her mom and dogs quickly. Many people are in danger of dying if they don't evacuate, those in mandatory evacuation zones. If a 20 ft surge of water engulfs her house, with over 100 mph winds, that would be it. Why doesn't she and her mom she that? I am in shock over people who won't evacuate.
