Not the best of weekends!

So sorry to hear about the hamster. I remember how heartbroken I was when I lost my puppy when I was twelve. A very mixed weekend for us. We went to see William in the car park of his Home. We still have to be socially distanced and meet outside due to the covid rules. William came out with two carers. He gave me a beautiful card he had made for me at college. I was talking to him, when on the spur of the moment he reached out and held my hand. It was the most amazing feeling as I hadn't held his hand for a year. It was also clarification that he still knows I am his Mum. The carers looked awkward but didn't say anything. I know I should have stepped back but it happened so fast. No-one could stop him. He is a "baby" trapped in the body of a 21 year old man. He doesn't understand the social distancing rules and no-one can explain them to him as he is completely non verbal. I kept hold of his hand as I just couldn't let go .He would have seen it as me rejecting him. I have a feeling now that they will say I can't see him until the pandemic is over as they can't stop him from holding my hand. I will be completely distraught if this is the case. I've had my vaccine. He's mixing with people at college and travelling in a public taxi. I'm just waiting now to see what they say about future visits.

So awful that other people are in charge of anyone seeing thier own family even though its for all the right reasons but it doesnt make it any easier. Hopefully you will be able to see him whenever you want very soon

Sorry to hear about Sophie’s hamster it’s awful when they pass away. I lost my dog a month ago wouldn’t wish it on anyone.. but they are always with us even though they can’t be seen. Sending a big hug to all xx
