Alex as for your comment saying there’s no way Jace went all the way to winterfell and the vale in a few weeks. I think you might be underestimating how fast the dragons are. From dragon stone to the wall is about a 2 days flight. Whereas on horseback it’s about it a months journey. You can see Rhaenys and Aegon get to rooks rest from their respective areas before the sun even goes down and the battle ends during daylight still

To Alicent Aegon represents the thing she was sold for as a child. Everything she’s ever lost, her innocence, her friendship, and her happiness, has been for Aegon. It’s why even growing up she was much harsher on him than any of the other children. Even more so now despite the fact that he’s actually trying. So in this episode, after finding out that it was all for nothing because Viserys never chose Aegon, she’s looking at him and resenting him for not being good enough, for not making her loss worth it. Which really isn’t his fault, but I don’t think Alicent is ready to unpack the worst parts of her life just yet. It’s easier to be angry at Aegon than is to be angry and Viserys and Otto.

We can hate Cole all we want but he's proven himself a truly The Lords on Rhaenyra's council are sacrificing their small-folk, their wealth, their status and safety of their families to fight for Rhaenyra - they're not JUST being sexist but are right to be concerned that the inaction of the Queen will cost them their lives. Rhaenyra wants peace (which is good, shows her rationality) but she has no tangible plan or strategy to achieve it - which demonstrates something that's always been true about her: she's bad at politics and has not been properly trained or prepared to defend her reign.

Dany made a trip from Dragonstone to the Wall in a day, which was dumb. Jace taking a week or so going to Winterfell makes sense distance wise. It took Robert 1 month of travel by carriages and horse from Kingslanding to Winterfell, and they are traveling about 2.5 km/hr while and eagle travels 50 km/hr flying.
@douglas29384 ай бұрын
You say that but we're not given measurements of speed nor flight autonomy between dragons, so it's not that easy to compare. Given how fast Vhagar seemed while gliding over Arrax, it's safe to say that bigger dragons would have an advantage in traveling longer distances, but we'd still need those numbers to really compare.

with regards to dragon growth rates & Luke's being tiny; they are not constant, they grow much much bigger in the wild and become lazy and don't eat a lot when in captivity in the pit which is where all of this era's dragons are kept.. Rhaenyra's dragon is particularly spoiled so it hasn't really grown much since she was a teen but it's understood that when you put them on an (increased) wartime diet they can grow quicker

The dragons this episode had me so emotional. Meleys turning back for one final look at Rhaenys, Sunfyre turning so he doesn’t crush Aegon and cradling him, they deserve so much better 🥺

The problem with trying to find fault with as much of the writing as you possibly can is that you have to know your stuff. Like you mentioned Jace getting to Winterfell in that time. You do know he was riding a dragon right? I really think you guys should just relax a little and not try to outsmart the show.

Frankly, the dragons are far more sympathetic than any human character in this show except maybe the White Worm.

Rhaenys ultimately goes back because they would still lose the battle if Vhagar was left to fight and conquer Rook’s Rest. 31:25 She should’ve finished off Aegon if she was going to do anything else.

It's wild how many people are blaming Alicent for Aegon flying into battle! She literally told him to do NOTHING, sit and listen to wiser men, etc., etc. And all these MALE reacters are just blaming Alicent! I'm very glad my two favorite ladies pointed out Alicent telling Aegon to do nothing, because the misogyny against Alicent by the fans is crazy!

Alicent has been scared of Aemond since the start of the season. She hates Aegon but I don't think she prefers Aemond over him at all. Just see the look on her face when she's talking about him to Otto, both times they are having talks about her sons Otto has to calm down her worries about Aemond. Every time Aemond is around she looks uneasy. The only respect she has for him is the type you have for someone you think is capable of murdering you. And in this episode's scene I think she is venting her own frustrations on Aegon because he is in a similar position to her and she can finally rub it into someone's face. She laughs at him when he says he wants his thoughts to be heard, she tells him he has to do absolutely nothing, which must be close to how she's been feeling, constantly undermined by the council despite serving on it for years, because they think they don't need her and she just needs to be the queen-mother. It definitely felt like there's a bit of projection there on top of the dislike she has for Aegon.

To be fair everyone in the Green faction tries to do something and she constantly undermines their efforts. She had Rhaenyra in KL and could have ended the war by alarming her guards right there but she let her slip, Aemond is right, she still harbors affection for Rhaenyra. Aegon and Aemond are products of her parenting and Viserys absence, Aemond was raised to be the sword and shield of the Green faction, and most of the war effort is on his shoulders since he rides Vhagar. You could see in episode 9 that he's an adultified child and is Alicent's shoulder to rely on, that's why he goes to the prostitute to be cuddled and get maternal comfort.

Facts! If only she had listened to Daemon, they would have won the war and she would be still alive. But no, she wanted her bossbabe moment, and luckily she paid the price for it. A well deserved death: if you're smug and arrogant, thinking you're savvyer than people with actual war experience (DAEMON!) then you'll get what you deserve. Perfect FAFO example.

First time to your channel and wow.. I mean... Why would you say Rhaenyra counsel hates women when those men are literally willing to die for her by siding with her and not the Greens. That comment was so uncalled for and not justified at all. Ser Gwayne isn't racist he's a socialite seeing Ser Cole as low-born, a low-born that got rid of his father to advance his station. Alicent has feelings for Cole but it's only been a few weeks since the passing of Visery an its a bad look. Once a Queen now Alicent can only marry a King if she re-marries, unlike a King she doesn't have too. Rhaenys was a warrior/dragon ryder... They don't run and a good death is in Blood & Fire.

It’s hard for people to consider that Rhaenyra is just really bad at making decisions, when the show has framed her as correct. But she really is just woefully incompetent.
