As for names, Orochimaru in Naruto comes from "orochi" (serpent) and "maru" (suffix for boy names, but can also mean "circle" or used as suffix in ship names). Ichimaru Gin is weird, because in Japan, surnames are first, so "Ichimaru" is surname. "Ichi" means "one, first". So most likely "ichimaru" would be given to first son. But here it is as a surname so who knows really. "Gin" (with G like in "give") means "silver". It's his given name, so most likely refers to his hair. Also fun fact: it's predominantly a female name.

Except in his case "ichi" is not "one". The kanji used is 市 which belongs to "town", "market", "city"

Little clarification: 0:55 The weird thing, in Aizens eyes, is not that Rukia gets executed for not being captain rank. It's 'what' she gets executed with. They got authorized, to use the Sokyoku. An execution instrument that's normally only used on beings with higher Reiryoku/Spiritual Power (Captain level Reiryoku). That's why he said: "[...] the authorization and use of the Sokyoku on someone who ranks below a captain.” It's normal to interpret it wrongly. Especially because, in beforehand, Aizen asked Renji if Rukia should die.

I think the reason they liken him to a fox in the anime is because in japanese folklore, foxes, and fox spirits(kitsune) were used to depict evil tricksters.

There are boring bits later on. Largely due to the fact that the pacing kinda dies at some points which sucks. They were almost caught up to the manga the whole time the show was running. so even though almost half of it is filler they still had to really drag out the canon episodes too. And they chose really awful ways of doing that. Very unfortunate. But overall i think it just gets better. The new season which came out last year and is finishing the last arc of the manga doesn't have this problem. In fact depending on who you ask it has the opposite. I think its too fast. At the very least the animation gets better as the show gets more modern. Some might say they prefer the older style as it has its unique charm but if you ask me everything just looks better the further you go. The old anime began in 2004 and ended in 2012.

The bount arc is worth watching though... maybe not the zampakuto arc, but I went into the bount arc biased against it since it is filler and it was still good.

@@Wingnut353 People dog on it 'cause it's definitely a step down from the canon, but still interesting and fun; despite those 3 annoying ass-hats who overstay their welcome into the main series (you know the ones). IMO still 10 times better than the filler arc whose name I can't even remember; the one with the little girl with her two body-guards.

Bleach has highs and lows, though I wouldn't go as far as to say any of the non-filler arcs is bad/boring. I for one happen to like the Fullbringer arc. The new season that just came out, however, is peak anime. I'm still torn between Bleach TYBW and Chainsaw Man for anime of the year.

Bleach only gets 'bad' when they start heavily cutting back on the number of chapters they adapt per episode to avoid catching up to the weekly manga but still end up having to do long filler arcs anyway. It's an adaptation issue more than anything. You've still got a while before that starts being an issue though.

Bleach is a really good show, although the filler arcs are kind of meh, I hope they don't make you drop the series because the canon arcs are so good.
