When my dad was a very young man, a June bug crawled into his ear while he was sleeping. The horrible noise it made caused him to freak out and actually spray bug spray in his ear to kill it. It had crawled so deep before dying that even ear flushing and digging by a dr couldn’t get all of it out, and he lost hearing in that ear. Many many years later, he felt something weird in that ear, and after a little flushing and digging around, pulled out the petrified exoskeleton of that bug! His hearing was almost completely restored. Another trip to the doctor confirmed that his ear canal was clear although pretty scarred up. It’s one of the weirdest things in our family lore!!😮

I got an ugly earwig, about 3/4" long, in my ear when I was about 6 years old. It crawled into my ear while I was sleeping overnight in a sleeping bag in the front yard. My siblings and I thought it would be fun to camp in the front yard overnight. It really freaked me out. It was so loud, and it felt like I had a butterfly flapping around in my head. Fortunately, my mom was able to get it out with a bobby pin. I'm 59 now, and I still remember that whenever I go camping somewhere. Apparently, that is how the earwig got its name... because of a widespread ancient superstition that earwigs crawl into the ears of sleeping people.

Thank you for adding another bug to my ear freak out! I had a tiny mosquito in my ear. I could believe how loud it was. I managed to kill it. 4 days later I could feel the clicking. I syringe my ear. Little thing came out. I've suffered from vertigo ever since. That Sept 18

Superstition? It happened to you 😮

@@dennisnickoloff1723 If you google it online, most references will say that it was a widely held ancient superstition, but there is no truth to it. I beg to differ.

Doesn’t sound like a superstition since it happened to you

@@christineferguson788perhaps try the Eply maneuver and/or the relief band. I wonder if, by using water to syringe it out of your ear, you got water somewhere it shouldn’t be. I hope you’re able to get to go to the doctor to get that looked at. I’ve had vertigo a few times. I know it’s terrible

She absolutely did not get a crab in her ear from “snorkeling”. Maybe from laying on the beach. Crabs don’t actually swim, they crawl on the sea floor.

My great grandfather had a hard shell bettle bug crawl in his ear one night. My grandmother (his daughter) said he was beating his head against the walls and the floor. He went to the local town doctor the next morning and the doctor pulled it out, it had clawed his eardrum to bits. Videos like this give me the creeps on many levels!

Something tells me this was less of a snorkeling issue and more of a "fell asleep on the beach" issue. No way a crab is having the time to swim up to your head while you're swimming and crawl up in there

I was thinking the same thing..i mean i know true life can be stranger than fiction, but i just can't see that happening, unless it was a baby & grew in her ear,but how would it survive unless it fed & dead skin & ear wax 😂😂.. Well it's a first.. Have a good day & take care 🙏🏻🦋🙏🏻🦋

The person was standing so still while this crab was in their ear?! I’d like to elect her for President, asap. PSA: if a flying insect ever goes in your ear, dim the lights and then use a flashlight (or what’s available) to try and lure it out. I saw a woman report that it worked for her and thought I’d pass it along. 😹
