God Bless all the first responders. They are literally lifesavers. Our local first responders & ambulance crew have helped my Mother several times in the last several years when she really needed help. Thank you all for the job that you do.

I was impressed by the tactical analysis. Wind shifts, so burning fire is headed toward a black zone, ignore it. Limited water, what's the best use? I set a "small" grass fire once (for what I thought were good reasons!) Got away from me. People in cars stopped to help, fire department finally showed up (they'd been given poor directions). No damage except to my panic and fear. Side bit -- one of the cars who stopped to help sent her kid in to use my phone to call 911. He came back and said he "didn't know how to use that kind of phone". I still had a landline and dial phone then!

As a wildland firefighter responsible for a type 6 engines much like yours, I must say that this video was the training video I have been looking for! Excellent prioritization, excellent conservation, excellent call outs and communications, hands down best fire video I've seen in a while. This will be used and will be incredibly helpful as a training tool for me and my crew. Thank you!

I wouldn't be using it as a training video personally. Using water on no smokes or no spots in the black with a high GPM nozzle wouldn't be my plan. Take the heat out of the flames and keep moving. It worked fine but could have been better; forestry nozzle instead, not spraying wildly, not spraying from a distance that just barely gets drops and only hitting flames. Let's say a 300 gallon water tank for the low side, with a forestry nozzle that is 3gpm typically, over an hour and a half of water. Even longer with a bigger tank.

What this video doesn't convey is the sheer power that is behind those airdrops. We survived our own #HillFire prior to the pandemic and I believe it was one of the bigger planes that did several passes and my teeth were vibrating in my skull. Our home was saved thanks to 13 men and one tractor who hike up the hill and literally said, "Not today Satan." and stopped the fire dead right there from traveling any further. Thank you and your department for all that you do. It's amazing to see the amount of communication that goes on between y'all. Please be careful out there this season. 💖💜

Seeing you guys at work make me wish you guys were operating here in BC, Canada! People have been joking about Canadian fire smoke but never though about how hard our fight is here: my province has had the worst fire season in its history and august isn’t even half over! We even lost two forest firefighters already on the line of duty. Keep up the good fight and Godspeed! Wish we had more of you legends here!

Uncle Mullet good work brother. as a fellow firefighter (swiftwater rescue) let me say this prayer for you and for all those battling fires this season Most powerful God, we offer our prayers for our brave firefighters. Protect them from harm as they dedicate their lives to saving others. Grant them health in body and spirit. Bless their efforts and commitment. Comfort them in their stressful moments at work. Grant them all the blessings they deserve. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

God bless you from Ontario Canada. Great video.. I am a structural firefighter and we were doing an urban interface wildland fire back before we had radio communications with our Ministry of Natural Resources water bombers. I remember hearing yelling and looked up to see a bomber approaching for a drop right on our heads. Have to say I never want to go through that again. Phew we all survived the drop and thankfully these days several decades later we have a mutual aid radio channels that the bombers now can talk to us on.

So very glad that you all got to save so much property and structures for the people. And we can't forget the animals (even noisy roosters). That is what it is all about, saving what really matters to the lives of the people that live there. The vegetation can grow back in most cases, but the material items can't always be replaced. Good job EVERYONE.

I lived in Killeen TX (early 60's) and helped put out a grass fire that my little sister and I accidently started (I was 10). She was putting it out with her bare feet (she must have had the fasted feet - not a single burn), I was using a cloth bag of some kind. Those grass fires move FAST! Everybody and his brother stopped to help. Business men in their suits, newspaper boys dropped their papers and used their sacks to beat out the fire, housewives used wet mops, kids from everywhere. We got the fire out before the firefighters arrived. Grass fires in Texas in the summer are no joke.
