I was in the fifth row in the “gold circle”. The crowd pressed in as the storm became I intense with heavy rain and lightning hitting the lightning rods. Insane and one of the most Intense live music experiences I’ve ever had and that’s saying a lot.

My girl & I had decided to go to this show w/out tix after tour opener night b4 @ Virginia Beach. Almost showtime still no tix, some guy offered us 1 ticket a few rows back from the stage & the press pass he said he’d been using all night for $50. I bought ‘em & gave my girl( a journalism major) the press pass. Before the first note she walked up to my seat. THEN IT RAINED. EPIC.

What’s not captured here is just how intense of a storm this was. I saw big storms in alpine, Atlanta, and a few other places over the years. Really intense deer creek storms that blew through the camp ground. But it was absolutely explosive to the point they cut the jam early. Lightning definitely hit in the parking lot too

Ben Franklin Fishman had a very short-lived phase where, according to Trey, he decided that he was tired of the whole dress gag and that he didn’t want to be thought of as “that drummer who wears the dress”. But after a few shows without it, he decided it just wasn’t right for him to be without it, so he went back to it haha.

Travis Otero it was actually lightning. Struck very close to the amphitheater. Most people, myself included, headed concessions area to find, at least, some sort of shelter during set break. Listening to this show is bringing back some wild memories!
