I have this notebook with i7 for over 4 years now. I just started to look for a gaming notebook and casually came over this video. For everyone interested: this notebook still works basically prefectly after 4 freaking years without any issues whatsoever. I clean it on a monthly basis and its more than enough. Almost no sound after all this time when gaming. There are obvious performance issues though. When Witcher 3 came out I played it on high details and today I can barely play it with minimum. It just ages, but considering all the stuff it survived and tens of thousands of kilometers it traveled with me all over Europe for all this time, it is sort of unbelievable it still works. I will keep it for job and have a separate gaming notebook, there ain't no way I get rid of this baby for a couple hundred euros. I recommend it to anyone who's looking for a cheap all-rounder. It is absolutely incredible what this thing is capable of for what, 300-350 euros?

Well my specs for this Asus VivoBook X556UQ-DM363T are: Intel® Core™ i7-6500U Processor, 2.5GHz (4M Cache, up to 3.1GHz) with turbo boost, an NVIDIA GeForce 940MX , with 2GB VRAM, a 512 SATA3 SSD and with 12 GB of ram DDR4 2133MHz. I got this for 800 € and I can say it's the best you can get. the only down side is the cam it's only 640 x 480 pixels but I don't care......

I bought the X556UB in 2017 and it has given me endless problems. First, the keyboard played up and gets locked up. I had to buy a replacement keyboard from Aliexpress and changed it myself. In between i had endless problems with the Realtek audio driver. Every time I had a Windows 10 update, the audio went dead. I got so tired of doing multiple uninstall and installs of the audio driver that I finally have up and decided to use a Bluetooth speaker for my audio. This was after I changed the input output card, again bought from good old relaible Aliexpress. The intermittent audio problem did not go away. Finally, just this week my display screen suddenly played up. It started flashing hues of blue, red and green then bright white all of a sudden. I had to confirm that my laptop was all right by hooking an external screen using the HDMI output. I have just placed an order for a replacement screen frim Aliexpress and will be hopefully changing the display in a couple of weeks time. I decided that this will be the last repair I am making on this laptop. Don't buy Asus.

I've never had a problem with a laptop connecting to wireless....before now. I picked up this computer yesterday, and nothing I do will get it to connect. Once I get past that, I'm sure I'll love it.

Nice Video, Asus should have opt for the 940mx with GDDR5 memory instead of DDR3. 940m vs 940mx: Both DDR3 = 940mx is about 3% better than 940m 940mx w/ GDDR5 = at least 15% better performance compared to 940m

This laptop is still serving me up until now (4 yrs) - once smashed to the ground but still worked fine - heats up pretty quick when I play Warframe lol but it does run good at low graphics - i can still watch half a movie during a power outage 😂 - great for work, school, video editing Planning to upgrade the RAM and battery next time

@@stan706 well for starters it's probably because of the hard drive, it is fragmented. Try defragging your disk. Here are a lot of defraggers out there. Or better yet, upgrade to an SSD, put the ones you regularly use on an SSD and all the pictures, music, movies and offline games into an HDD

Hi, I just got this X556 vivobook after seeing this great review. Enjoyed watching it, thank you. Well, first task on the Asus laptop was to call my mum on Skype. She could barely hear me, with some technical background noise nearly louder than my voice. The microphone settings up to its maximum, and still even the personal assistant does not recognise the voice. Any idea what to do, or is it a fault? And does it happen to all X556? Very disappointed it fails on such a basic task. The webcam is also very poor quality...

Good day! Last year, I bought this laptop(Actually, not sure if it's this specific model. Though, on the bottom right corner, it does ust say X556U((no more, no less), and I was slightly upset that it only had 4 Gb of Ram. I'm willing to pay for an upgrade.
