Home Assistant?

The only real question!!

@eberger02 4 ай бұрын
The URL should allow the home assistant interface but I’ve added the Android Debug Bridge to the original NSP Pro in order to connect it to home assistant, but then it doesn’t update firmware automatically anymore, so you have to find a file of the update and push it to the device. Last time I looked the Sonoff integration in HA didn’t support the NSPP. Suspect you can just create a virtual device using the ewelink Cube palette in node Red and synchronise it with a HA “helper” using MQTT. That is what I do on iHost.

Hi, question regarding the thermostat function. If you have the "tolerance" set to +/-1* like you have it in the video, you set the desired temp. to 22C* will it trigger when it reaches 23C* or it has to go > then +/-1* which means that it will actually trigger at 24C* ? I have an NSPanel not PRO and set the "tolerance" to +/-0.5 but its not tiering then its x=set+/-0.5 it triggers when x>set+0.5 so in the end it does not trigger at the set 22C* it triggers at 23C*. I don't know if its understandable what I'm trying to ask. In my opinion it should triger at 22.5C* if I set it to 22

Remind everybody how much reviewers hated on the NSPanel Pro 86 when it came out. How they (and you?) all said it was not worth it etc etc. Guess Sonoff has delivered. Cuz I'm real happy with my NSPanel Pro 86 and just bought two 120s. Great review as always though.

I liked my original review to to that. I hated that launch as I never slated product so badly. I'm glad it got the update that ITEAD should have launched with. At least these who bought it back then ended up with functional device rather this being abandoned in favour of new model.

Thanks for the presentation. How is the Home Assistant integration for these panels? I mean other than displaying a HA dashboard via url... Is there an interesting open source custom firmware that can be used instead together with HA?
@notenoughtech

This would be down to matter or 3rd party firmware as current software makes no provision for rest endpoints etc.

if it's identical to the original NSPanel Pro Software wise, it's really easy to sideload the native home assistant app into it. It's just running android, and ADB is easy to enable.

Looking at the official website, the device supports node red and home bridge so it should work with most hubs, including home assistant out of the box

You mention in your video that it supports rtsp and you can talk back to the camera but i cant see mention of two way comms in the doc. Can you ahow an ezample of this? And can the intercom 1) call a NsPanel non pro and 2) can you set the panel to auto answer so you can broadcast a message to all units? Thanks

It shows a temperature. How to use it to controll a boiler if it doesnt have a reley?

@andreisteau6595

Unfortunately this is not optimized well.. I paired a sonoff 4ch pro r3 relay (to control the valves) and sonoff temp sensors and when i use integrated thermostat app from the panel it switch the relay properly. So far so good. But i have another relay (aqara T2) to control the signal to the boiler when any switch of the sonoff relay is open.. but it didnt open the switch to the boiler. And this happens only when i use integrated thermostat app, when i use just scenes with temp sensors it worked good, but is not handy to switch temp from scenes everytime. As you said, it would be helpful if thermostat function appear in the scene section… or if you can add more devices to be controlled when thermostat is open/close Also i thouth i can add this panel in homekit bia Homepod, because it said that support matter, but you can only add matter devices to it.

12:10 It would be VERY cool since you don't always know things like for green your grid is. I pay a flat rate, but I'd still prefer to use cheaper (whole to the monopoly because then they can't raise rates per regulations), which also happens to be GREEN energy in the solar, wind, geothermal, hydro, geothermal sense. Heck, Project Idea, somewhere with an existing ESP8266 running, add a scale (PWN darkened) showing grid cleanliness if your area fluctuates a lot

There are 2 routes to go with. You can DIY your own ZigBee server with Zigbee2MQTT and do it your way - or switch to eWeLink and simply get ZigBee Bridge Pro from sonoff (or U) ZB temp sensors, TRV and zb relay to toggle signal to your boiler

Not sure it’s legal in U.K. just to remove a switch. Think all lighting circuits have to have an physical On/OFF point so you can kill power to the circuit. I turned on Android Debug Bridge on my old Pro and it no longer gets automatic updates sent to it. That interface does look nicer though; maybe I will search for a file of the update. Any idea which update saw the improvement or failing that what is the current firmware version?
@eberger02

Ofcourse you could move the physical switch
@MAMDAVEM
@MAMDAVEM 4 ай бұрын
I not sure that is the case. Can you point me as to where in BS 7621 "Requirements for electrical Installations" this is stated. Personally I would always have a physical switch for lighting circuits but I'm not sure that is a legal requirement. For example you could have a security light on motion detection. In any case most UK installations will have a seperate breaker for the lighting circuit.
@notenoughtech
@notenoughtech 4 ай бұрын
It's I believe legal. You are not really removing the power to the light circuit. lights are in parallel to that circuit so you are only controlling the access to individual light
@eberger02
@eberger02 2 ай бұрын
@@MAMDAVEM you're not installing a circuit so 'Requirements for electrical Installations' is irrelevant. You're modifying a pre-existing circuit.
