Can’t say I fully agree with the review, this is a fantastic album and it’s strong throughout. It is still BBT but they have moved things on so incredibly well with this release. Under difficult circumstances this is an absolute triumph. Contender AOTY

I have really been enjoying Nick D’V’s work recently. Started listening to early Spock’s Beard and I’m excited to hear this album. I don’t know too much about Big Big Train

Love your honesty. I've heard Last Eleven and Miramare and Love Is The Light, and I really like all three.

It's worth to mention how Beneath the Masts foreshadow the last track of the album (Last Eleven) by using the same harmonies and vocal lines during the crescendo in the beginning. Sure, a staple in the prog genre, but I think it sounds pretty darn sweet when you listen to the whole album.

I'VE just listened to it. Pure magic it keeps the bbt style. This album is much better than many others today which are dark, pure progressive rock,it reminds me anthony Phillips.

Im not sure that BBT can still be called a “British” progressive rock band, what with their members nowadays hailing from England, Sweden, USA, Norway and Italy. More appropriate nowadays to call them an “International” progressive rock band…..

Love Is The Light is a gorgeous track. I think it's the best one on the album. The first three are excellent. This reminded me so much of the brilliant An Hour Before It's Dark by Marillion. This is wonderful modern Prog, I know David Longdon is sadly no longer with us, but feel his spirit lives on in the band and in this record.

As much as I'm happy we got some new BBT... Holy crap, that is Shaggs vinyl, and I need that in my collection as soon as I can make that happen...

Just listened to it, its ok. Sadly i think this band is going to be a shadow of its former self without David Longdon. Still going to see them live though and will love it im sure

I agree, the first half is much stronger than the second.

I will be listening to this in about an hour. In truth...I haven't heard a BBT album I didn't like...let you know later.

I disagree with your take on it (but music appreciation is subjective, so to each their own....). I had the opposite reaction, haha. The first 3 tracks left me wanting more ("and not in a good way"...;)), and I thought the rest of the songs were spectacular by comparison. All in all, I thought this was a fantastic album!! I still like the first 3 tracks even though they are not as strong (for me) as the rest.

Do not agree with your opinion. The whole album is good songwriting. The only downfall is the guitars are too far in the mix. Not a fan of Rob Aubrey, also not with previous albums. Too much oohs en aahs in mine opinion. They could sound a lot better.
