I remember half a year ago, a real close discord friend of mine tried got hacked, and whoever was in their account asked me to try out their new game for them. Funnily enough, I was well aware that my friend was big into that stuff, so of course I said I would test it for them. Upon launching the software, I was immediately not only token logged, but it prevented me from using discord period, it stopped me from seeing any messages, servers, friends, and the worst part of it all, bypassed 2fa so that they could change their password. What I don't understand is why discord doesn't send an email confirmation of "do you want to change your password?" It would seriously stop 99% of shit like this

Gotta admit, this same thing happened to me several months ago, and let's say I was not thinking clearly back then and fell for it. Gotta say, damage control was not fun, from notifying my contacts about the fact I got scammed to getting unbanned across servers. The only saving grace I had was having 2 FA and codes which saved my acc from getting stolen.

The actual bad part of this for Bot developers is that they can use verified bots and rename them to spoof being a legit bot that requires more digging to find that it's fake. I mean, it's easy to realize if the bot asks you to scan a QR code, but apparently not for everyone.

i was in a server, and a link was sent to one of these servers, i tried to warn the owners that the server they sent was not only nsfw, but also that it was a scam server and the person who sent the messages was most likely hacked. this happened today and i warned the owners as soon as possible and still nothing has been done yet. i did send this video to the server tho so the people will see this and know to NOT join the server
