A lot of people cut the v-band and move it back to gain room, there are other up and forward headers that are shorter too. You shouldn’t use impact driver on the v-bands, it will gall up the threads but during mock up remove the locking nut and use a standard nut to save wear and tear on the clamp. Make sure you figure out it you turbos are journal bearing (which they probably are) or ball bearing, ball bearing turbos use oil restrictor and journal bearings do not, and oil feed points straight up so the oil drain points straight down.

Nothing ventured nothing gained. I think the more room you can gain in the engine bay that's a win. I don't see how it can effect the performance of the turbo!!!👍 Very cool. I'm excited to see her run.

Hey Dan, I really think the cars you build are awesome. The two door conversions you do are cool as hell. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to own any of the cars you have built. Another thing, stop putting yourself down. You say stuff like, " you know DD Speed shop shady work". Also, " I do bad welds " and stuff like that. Your a wizard on tri fives. There's not a part on one you don't know or haven't touched. If you ever need to get rid of any of your conversion cars, I would be first in line to buy one. Love your channel and videos. Keep up the fantastic work. Take care and be safe.

You need to cut your headers back to the block and and weld the Turbo flange on the bottom of the header so you can place the turbos lower and turn the blowers around facing forward so the exhaust can be piped straight out the back instead of the sides👍🏻

Nice. Idea for the alternator - the passenger side head is further back than the driver side, so maybe packaging the alternator in front of it will give you more room for the turbos, etc.

Thanks Dan I love this LS stuff. I once built a 57 Chevy from the ground up the only thing original was the roof in the firewall. I put ALS one 4L 60E air conditioning in 4 wheel disk brakes. Took 4 years to do And I got drunk one night and agreed to sell it to someone for $80000. The a****** showed app the next morning with the cash I was sick

I’d lean toward shortening the headers at the collector. It may still be a little weird around the alternator, but stuff can be jockeyed around a little with super-custom bracketry and such. It’s just metal.

They also sell 90’s with v-band flanges on either side. You could use those and mount the turbos inside the fenders and use the fresh air vents behind the headlights to force air into the turbos. With the 90’s it gives you the option to clock them a little bit more as well.

yes shorten headers weld on the t3/t4 turbo flange , weld blow of valves pipe straight onto turbo exhaust housing , better throttle response and better boost control , no elbow clock the turbos so they dont sit up in the air ( unless thats the look your going for ) give the exhaust gas a straight shot at turbin wheel , burn rubber for days . also try and find a way to suport turbo weight so you dont have to keep repairing your china headers google mavin mounts and copy them if your in the mood to fab somethig

Look at the street racing channel they have a 61 Falcon with the ls twin turbo all under the hood and looks like the stock core support and everything in it so you might look at the picture and get an idea on how they did that they also have the guy's name listed on there that actually built the car because they didn't build it they got it as is and I'm not sure how they ran the water lines but the radiator is in the back underneath the trunk with two big fans on it and works perfectly because they drive it everywhere on the street with no cooling problems and with those big radiators and fans that you're running on them try five that should go underneath the back and have no problem
