As someone who was 19 at the start of the pandemic and then blinked and turned 24 with a new 24 year old body, it makes me so happy to see such a positive relationship with clothes. Like there’s the saying going around “you shouldn’t fit clothes, clothes should fit you” (maybe you said it lol idk) and you really give that vibe.

I have had two babies since I was 21 and am almost a decade older and my body has changed permanently and I love that. I don't want my body to be forever frozen in its most youthful state. I want it to look like life happened to me. My wider hips, my wrinkles, my laugh lines- they are the stories of my life and my experiences in visual form and it makes me so happy to see these changes.

I love my Everlane jeans. I have the Way High jeans in light blue, indigo and black. I wear them almost daily on rotation. I let go of all my other jeans from when I was 19/20. My 26 yr old 🍑 simply just doesn’t fit anymore lol Can’t believe I was beating myself up over not fitting in those. When at that age, I was beating myself up for not having a bigger butt 😂

this video was so validating as someone who was the same size from ages 17-24. Then at 25 my body completely changed, between lots of hormonal changes and the fact that since I've started doing pole fitness I've grown a lot of muscle, now at 28 I cannot fit into my older clothes and shopping has become such a weird experience for me cause now I'm currently a size I'd never been before. And even though I LOVE how strong I am now, letting go of my clothes has been far more difficult than I care to admit.

Being the same age as you and seeing this has been so validating. I gained some weight in the last year due to health issues and pants that fit me easily last April barely go up my thighs/won't buckle at my hips. Last week I sat down and went through my entire wardrobe and tried on everything to see if it still fit me and if I still felt good in those clothes. Ended up donating so many items and I was feeling bad about my body image and seeing this helped a lot. Thank you

Damn queen this is relatable - we're about the same age and I sWEAR my body shape has changed. My hips are wider and even though the top half is about the same size, my bottom half is several sizes bigger than it was even a year ago. And it's not even that my weight has drastically changed! It's hovered around the same kilo range for the last year. It's just that my weight distribution is different. I had to get rid of so many of my favourite pants because they just don't fit anymore. On top of that, I got diagnosed with endometriosis this year, so I'm learning to work with my body's hormonal changes.

I definitely suggest switching out all of your hangers for velvet hangers to keep your clothes as streamlined as possible. It has helped with my cluttered closet SO much.

Just donated 2 HUGE bags of pants doing a similar clear out! Basically the millisecond I had to wiggle to get into a pair of jeans they were gone. Realized I've just got a 30ish year old body now and didn't want to deal with the mental of the "maybe they'll fit again some day." Treated myself to some nice quality bottoms that help me feel fabulous without sacrificing that sweet sweet comfort!

Body changes are so real. I usually keep a box of the most special stuff that fits me when I’m in a smaller phase packed away just in case. Otherwise it’s not in my closet because it definitely puts pressure on myself to be different from where I am in the present. My body fluctuates naturally a lot so sometimes getting rid of things feels too permanent and can be an excuse for me to shop more…which I don’t need to do lol.

I was underweight as a child and teenager, not for a specific reason, just high metabolism and growth spurts that made me seem even skinnier. The women on my mothers side of the family are a curvier and tend to carry their weight on their hips and tummies. I’ve filled out as I’ve gotten older, and I find myself wishing I was still underweight (even though that is so toxic and not something one should wish for). I’m healthy and happy, and that should be enough, but somehow it just isn’t. The battle is long and difficult, and I’m not sure you ever make complete peace unless you learn to love yourself like you would love someone else in your life. Long rant, but know that neither you, Arden, or someone in the comment section aren’t alone! 💕
