They really needed to increase prices. Should have come through a long time ago. Finally allows them to build a better car for 2024.

You sound just like someone with VERY LITTLE Driving Experience………I have been driving long before you were born, and I think I have forgotten more about cars, than you will ever know.

You can assign the climate control to one of the two 'favorites' star buttons on the steering wheel. So you can adjust the climate from the joystick without touching the centre touch screen.

Thanks for the review. As the best selling light car in Australia, it is important to have it thoroughly reviewed. (You finished a bit abruptly... mid-sentence?!) The inconsistent power delivery could be hazardous. Sometimes the car has 144kW... sometimes it has 70. Who knows what you will get to overtake on the highway? It probably depends on the state of charge of the battery. With a 110kW electric motor, and 1.8kWh battery, you have ~1 minute for maximum power. At 9:30 you showed the tyre pressures .. which seemed to be very high and a bit inconsistent. Is that recommended? (45/44/43/42 psi). I'd expect around 36 psi on a car this size with 1 person in it. Anyhow, the base car now costs around the same as a Mazda 2, Suzuki Swit and Toyota Yaris (and is more than a Picanto).... so it would be great to see a comparison.

Looks like a great small car presented in an interesting and thorough review, a good basic small runaround that seems to be well designed. Nice design which shows how far Chinese manufacturers are moving to quality and durability. A bit of a quandary in considering the hybrid vs the pure petrol model, albeit the hybrid likely provides more pleasure in driving dynamics. I dislike USB-A in modern cars and thinks USB-C should be the norm. No telescopic adjustment on the steering isn’t great. The screens look fine, interior design seems good, albeit less than perfect. The driver’s seat wouldn’t suit me with a bump at base of the spine though. Okay but not great to drive, maybe better tyres would improve that, but comfy which is pretty good for a cheaper car. Noisy revving which isn’t great, so not too powerful., so perhaps more of a city runabout. Seems adequate in every way, a really comprehensive well paced and informative review. A road trip review would be interesting. I’m no great fan of hybrids, but they have their place. Thanks for a great review!

I cannot believe how much you hated the old MG3, you sound just like someone who never owned one……..I have owned an MG3 Excite for 5 years, and am very happy with it……..You just have to know how to drive it !!…….It is a different car when you keep it above 3000 revs, and use the Sports Shift………and I have done many long Interstate trips.

They aren't going to be selling many of these at $25k driveaway. All of the previous 15000 sales are going to be transferred to the MG ZS at $22,900 drive away.

Defs trying to justify a more expensive price here. I also hate price increases, but it's easy to see how they can justify it.

@ProductReviewCars The new MG3 has a lot more equipment and is a better product than the old unit. But I think that most buyers will be tempted to keep a couple thousand $ in their account, and get more metal for the money by purchasing the ZS.
