Duncan-Very true but like in anything in life. We realize it only later on,Back in thesde days we bitch like the teens are bitching now, same thing. many of these bands are better now, families, dealing with money in more mature way. lot of backstabbing back then. Nowadays they all respect each others. The past is always the best place to hide from the everyday life and dream-it's where I have been living since then.

I first saw them in 81' at the Whiskey and they were great. The two girls who took me were close to Stephen and got in free and went to his apartment afterwards. He couldn't have been nicer Robin too. Warren was pretty mellow and I guess they had studio time in a few hours so we walked out with Warren to his car which I think was a Datsun b210 with no back window lol great songs from these guys and shows back then.

RATT was the shit to listen to back in 80's. I was a BMX trixter and the BOOMBOX was always chugging RATT. Best of times. I really miss Radio and Cassette tapes. Radio had a way of uniting Rock/ Metal people. There was a unity among us I have not felt since Radio died. PRE internet. Thats how we communicated.

I used to think, "at this very moment, there are other people jamming, and loving TF out of this song right now, just like me!" It's like you are connected or something! I remember blasting RATT, Cinderella, KIX, and Ozzy on 12 outta my bedroom in the early 90s and driving my mom and dad absolutely bonkers.😆 I had a broom all tricked out to look like a Flying V guitar with one of my dad's ties for a strap. I'd get in front of my mirror and air guitars for hours. Then one of the greatest days of my life came in 1994 after banging around on a cheap Squire bullet for a couple of years. My mom bought me a sunburst 94 CE bolt on PRS. Never been so stoked. It was one of the first ones sold in Knoxville TN. The guitar spawned a somewhat lucrative session career after awhile. And it's all because of these type of bands. They planted that hellraiser seed that bloomed into a decent guitar player. Thank you Steven. And thank you to all the other bands that molded me.

Crazy to think Ratt, along with Van Halen, Judas Priest, Dio, Kiss, and all the MTV videos (even the pop stuff) put me on this road.

Man… this dude is a legend!! We’ve already lost two of the metal Health QR line-up, a heap of guitarists and one vocalist, who to be fair wasn’t the og vocalist of the band, but still… and Robbin, RIP big guy, your legacy still shines bright though it’s been almost 20 years. I hope the reaper doesn’t claim anyone else, I don’t know how, but this year has already been worse than last if not deaths… we’ve had health issues, if the wanted man goes… the gang will be no more.

I played the Troubadour one time in 1988, the band I was with drove from North Carolina to the west coast to play 8 shows in 4 western states California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, but playing the Troubadour at 20 yrs old was the highlight for me knowing that all the people and bands that I admired RATT, Dokken, Van Halen and so many others played that same hallowed ground it was just so exciting being a 20 year old from North Carolina. The band that i was with worked harder than any band i know, gave them my blood sweat and tears for 12 yrears. We were pretty much straight-up metal, toured all over the United States at one time or another, did three weeks in Europe, never made it big but were on a label and had management and got paid for doing what I loved had the time of my life and wouldn't change a thing. Got to play shows with many bands then I grew up listening to and met a lot of people in the business have been very lucky in that sense, I still play music it's in my soul. Rock on Stephen thanks for the documentary and sharing you're memories!!!

Lolz Neeley you weren't invited by Stephen to attend this production...u invited yourself several times when Erik called in to your silly talk show...... And Heavy Metal Parking Lot had nothin to do with Los Angeles or the Strip! It was filmed on the other side of the country in a state called Maryland.

Since no one else wants to say it, I'll say it: "Dude holds his meth well." Been there, done that. Party on! YOLO.

The big difference was when Bobby and Juan joined the band. My band gor signed at the Whiskey, never played Gazzaris. And IMO the Roxy was the class gig. No room in LA had better sound than the Roxy.
