Hey John Gregg from resale traders here, the ET Atari game should get good money and it is not a myth about Atari burrying them, there is a documentary on Netflix about this.

Hey C.P. .. your videos have inspired me to go garage sale hunting lately. I'm having fun and I always use your catchphrase "Good luck with your sale". Yesterday I found 4 binders of Topps baseball cards. Each one was an incomplete set there was a 1959, 1960, 1965, and 1972. About 1500 cards total. A lot of commons but some good ones too. She sold em all to me for $95. I listed them in 4 auctions on Ebay. The bids are already over $500. Keep up the good work! And Thanks for your great videos.

Atari:Game Over (2014) is a documentary about the collapse of the video game industry in 1983. Short version: Atari games had become very popular, so popular that way too many poorly designed games flooded the market and eventually killed the market. The most notorious of those games,"E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial", was rushed to market (5 weeks to create it) so it would be available when the movie premiered. It was given almost universally negative reviews and sold poorly. Atari did in fact dump thousands upon thousands of video games in a landfill in Alamogordo, New Mexico, but ET was just one of many unsold titles that were dumped. So the story is part myth but it is mainly true. What is that saying about one man's junk being another man's treasure?

Hey John I sold the Atari system separate for parts for $25 I think. The joysticks sold good by themselves and as for the game Qburt ET space invaders and some other popular games sold for me 5-10 just game untested. Hope that helps you out. ET seems to not be a myth but sells for a lot if you have the Og case and manual it can bring in some money. Happy selling!!
@paulkane23914 жыл бұрын
Command Records (the first sale with the gloss white covers - I think they had Persuasive Percussion and a few others) are collectible. They'd probably sell well at the booth. Sony remotes are pretty common at thrift stores. The nice thing about Sony remotes is that many of them are usable with a wide range of their products. For a DVD/VCR, just look for one that says "Video" under the Sony logo at the front bottom of the remote. The ET Game is common and a generally bad game, so pretty valueless in open condition. But the Atari deck with the wood grain front may be more valuable than you think.
@willsanders67654 жыл бұрын
An atari game to look out for is Swordquest Waterworld. There was 3 swordquest games on the atari but only waterworld is really worth anything. I got really lucky at a thrift store last year and got a copy for $6 for just the cart. Sold it for $250 and used it to buy some more expensive gamecube games.

Hi from Canton Ohio! Came to you recently from Kevin's vids...Anyways..wanted to say about the cat litter trays--- Even if you didn't think they were worth it to you, I would've bought them and donated them to shelters or rescues, and you could've wrote them off your taxes for a 'reasonable value' on your taxes!--- and helped out TRULY needful causes---just a consideration for the future! I always keep an eye out for stuff that will help, even if I can't use it myself.👍😉

Nice Atari lot. I bought a ton of Atari stuff for $500 around Easter from a retro store and have doubled my money with a ton still to sell. John, you have some red label Atari games. Those are worth selling alone. Also, check to see if you have any zellers exclusive games ( they have funky artwork). These were games made exclusively for zellers, a Canadian retail store like sears. Those games go for good money. Best of luck.

Sorry to say the only Atari game in that lot worth selling on its own is Off The Wall, maybe a $15-20 sale. After that, Double Dunk and Solaris mostly because they were late titles, but will still be sub-$10 each. Most everything else is 5 and under individually. ET has the benefit of a story behind it, but has always been a common as dirt title. Without going into terrible detail on the models, (there are guides online,) the *original* Atari has six switches across the front. One version is notably heavier, thusly nicknamed “heavy sixer,” and is worth some money. 4 switch models are common. The 2600jr models are a little less common, but generally not worth a whole lot more. I could go on forever. But finally If you don’t care about keeping things together, you can probably sell those manuals as a separate lot on their own and get as much for them as the games.

Atari E.T. is not rare or valuable. It's a hard game to play and was never popular, so it sold relatively poorly. Still there's plenty to go around and little demand. Yes, some of the excess inventory was buried. You can see a video about someone who found the stash.

Am I the only one getting tired of walking up to garage sales and hearing COVID talk? I dropped out of Med school to start my own business, I have roughly 50% of my fam in the medical field anywhere from Doctor's to Techs. I live in a Major Covid city, and what they've seen/read/been told from other professionals is not pretty. The articles they share, and what i can understand suggests we still don't know enough yet, espeically about mutations. The people on TV barley have enough proper information, let alone someone who has absolutely no idea what this is from a Medical standpoint. Then what's worse, they follow it with Politics. Garage sale, or family get together. No one should try speaking like a Virology professor then switch hat's to a CNN/FOX commentator. I've legitimately been to 15+ garage sales this year where someone is talking out of their ass. I'd rather have a piintless sports argument rather than hearing about your opinion on what anyone should do about COVID.
