@@p.vaishnav24 because they're not directly throwing in text in rainbow colours in bold and italic telling you their os is better. And also, this is whole video is also weird. How many people go out and try different phones anyway? Idk how its even about ios and android. Different skins of android frustrate me more than going to ios from android. For example, I have a samsung but you use a xiaomi and they have the same stuff located layers deep under some other option you wouldn't expect. The search doesn't work either because every oem decides they'll use their own name for the same thing. This definitely is a promo for nothing. Just because it's not directly written doesn't mean this makes them some unbiased company with no agenda. Everyone has agendas as to why they upload certain videos. I wish that we wouldn't talk like "iPhone is simple while Android is customizable", because most people hear that as "Android is for tech geeks and iPhone is for the rest of us" guys, Android is as simple as iPhone. yes, it gives you much more freedom than iPhone, and that's a good thing! but that isn't the only point it has. let's start talking down-to-earth about day-to-day differences that most users care about - like wireless power sharing, Messages on your PC, a consistent back gesture, the volume control panel, and notification history - instead of these high-level theoreticals that just make iPhone sound better - from a Nothing Phone 2 owner, previously on iPhone SE 2020
@geggyboy12699 күн бұрын
Wireless Power Sharing is a miracle straight from heaven. 🙏
@babybirdhome9 күн бұрын
Or messages on your Mac, for Apple users, who also have consistent back gestures, and a volume control panel. One really isn't "better than the other". They're different from each other. For some people, those differences are better in one way, while for another person those differences are better the other way. I'm a tech geek who likes customizability. I like to customize virtually everything so it suits my needs. Despite this, I prefer iPhones over Androids, even though I have less customization options and can't tailor it to suit myself as much. What's there simply works better for me. It doesn't work better for some others, but one thing that gets lost in that is that whether or not it will work better for "YOU" has little to do with whether or not you like the customizability or not, so you shouldn't just lock yourself into or out of one or the other without actually giving it a chance. I loved all the customizability of my Android phones. I also don't miss them after switching and giving the iPhone a chance before just giving up on it. They prioritize different things in different ways, and it isn't as simple as "iPhone is better if you like X" or "Android is better if you like Y". It's a lot more complex and nuanced than that. You can only ever really know if you try them out and see what works and what doesn't work for you. Otherwise you'll just be part of a silly phone architecture "religion".
@MonocleRB8 күн бұрын
@babybirdhome absolutely! a lot of articles and videos (like this one) only skim the surface and don't bother getting into the differences that actual users feel day-to-day. for example, iOS has a unified call interface, which is really great when you use a calling app for work like I do, I wish Android had that. though I'm not sure what you mean by iOS having a volume control panel, it consolidates notifications, ringtone, and alarm into one volume slider while Android has separate sliders for each. Messages on Mac is really nice, I used it back when I had an iPhone and a MacBook, but having Android Messages on *any* type of computer is great.

Very nice video, super easy to follow! One point about the cultural difference - I don't see how high/low context really applies to the complexity of the screens. Rather, the cultural aspect to focus on is called uncertainty avoidance, which says something of how people from certain cultures are with vague situations. Here, the Asian countries you mentioned are (broadly speaking) less trusting of vague information. That explains why information-rich UI is better there. Actually if you rely on the idea of high/low context, iOS would be an example of HIGH context, not low. minimalist UI requires that you understand how to access all the features even though they are hidden. In other words, you need context.

Are you actually joking? This entire channel is clickbait marketing lmfao

U might want to involve history here… like how BB were also famous back then because of the community it built BBM. And when they shared it to android, they began loosing the game..(thought it was not the sole reason) While there maybe many aspects we may want to know why people stick to their preferred phones or OS, one cause might be because of community cultivation. Companies need also to produce quality phones (every single time) as people’s past “bad” experience might be the reason why they would not purchase.. for instance, i did not have a great experience then using an asus device, so its really blacklisted on my future purchases..😅 - my personal take though 😁😁😁

Wholesome video! Nothing is not trying to poke the competitors but empower the users with knowledge and a more nuanced perspective.

Agreed, each to their own. I love Nothing OS, it hits the spot visually for me being incredibly easy on the eyes. I loved my Phone 1 and I love my Phone 2a even more! It's kind of amazing to have seen Nothing OS progress from 1.0 to 3.0 too.

0:27~1:26 (and also the rest of the video for that matter) - this is not necessarily always related to the operating system itself. in computer science, we study such tactics under the topic called "Human Computer Interaction". in fact, it's an entire field of it's own under the domain of computer science, and we don't study it together with another topic such as the "Operating System" or any other system design courses. this is not necessarily a part of the operating system itself, and that's why some apps can have far better user experience while others don't. and it's all because they have a better design for interaction with humans. the operating system usually have not much to do with it, unless it's a feature that has to be implemented in the user interface of the phone itself.

By doing this, provide a very important security feature to all Nothing's phones and that setting is that whenever we or anyone else switches off the phone, it should first ask for the lock screen password requirement.

I noticed this before in myself. Where I worked I was able to get most phones at a decent discount/incentives. And when I used an android phone as my main device, my screen time was a fraction of when I used an iPhone. There’s something to it, I noticed I only picked up my galaxy when I actually needed it and not just to doom scroll

Samsung keyboard sounds are the only ones I've never muted. Actually enjoy the clickity clackity sound - maybe because I'm a mechanical keyboard user also 😅

Lovely video. I switched from android to iOS and everything you said in the video made sense why.

I like the simplicity and consistency of the iOS back gesture. You simply consistently can't predict how it will work in the next app.

the most significant for me recently happen with HEPTIC. i just bought "h"(dont want to mention) phone and the HEPTIC is not what i am expected. it way below satisfying even though it is flagship level. to be honest i am getting more in love with my nothing phone 1. the user experience is getting more and more excellent, smooth like butter and the HEPTIC is very very good. u know how to tackle the user. the only thing i think is maybe u can change the slide down left screen show directly for notification and the other right screen when slide down show all the button. for me it is more practical. thats it, overall i love nothing❤

I request that whenever we switch off the phone, it should ask for the lock screen password so that the phone can be more secure. Please provide this secretary.

Nowadays I'm only here for the vibes, as I switched from my Nothing phone to another couple ones since Phone (1) was released, but this video was amazing! Honestly, not a single phone or OS satisfies me. I get bored of all of them very fast these days. So far, the Google Pixel 8a worked out the best (it somehow has the balance between iOS and Android), but I'm open to the concept to return to Nothing devices in the future.

And with that in Nothing's mind, hoping to see them create their very own OS. 😊
