Glad it was helpful! I'm definitely in that code-light boat. I have a bit of interest in learning how the code side works, but I also know that to do anything truly useful would take months or years of development training, trial and error, and codebase maintenance. Zapier/Automate are HUGELY useful :)

I would LOVE to, though it's a bit out of scope right now. As far as I can tell, Zapier and other no-code tools can only access the public KZbin API, which can only do things like post videos. I'd love to integrate the KZbin Data API, but afaik it's only for developers and there's probably a lot of permissions and rate limiting that would necessitate the development of an in-between app. The most realistic solution would probably be to partner with someone like SocialBlade on adding in KZbin data.

Hi Frank... I am trying to create a new BOT in Automate.IO to send and email when a new item is created in my notion database. So what I have this 2 databases linked (CASHIER & CLIENTS), and into CASHIER database I have a row named email client (rollup) from CLIENTS db. What I need is that every new item(page) = payment is added to my CASHIER database, the bot sends automatically an email to my customer email address. The problem is that if I linked CASHIER db in trigger section, this rollup fields does not appear in the "Output Fields" to be used. So in consequence I cannot set up the email destination in the action section. (What am i doing wrong???) Thanks in advance

Good question! I don't think I'd do it much in my own workflows, but some people would like to forward email conversations to Notion or another knowledge management system. Mainly, it was a simple demonstration of how to create a workflow in Automate :)

I really want to be able to embed a fully updateable Google Sheet where all formulas remain intact. So far this is not possible in Notion which means task tracking using the Ultraworking Google Sheet has to be done in a browser. It would be much better to bring all the Ultraworking sheets into Notion and track tasks there.

I do it the hard way - there's a camera above my monitor recording at the same time as my screen recorder, and I stitch everything together in Premiere. However, you can do the same thing much more easily using Loom. The results aren't as "pretty" - but the fact that the most popular video on this channel was made using Loom should prove that that doesn't matter so much haha

The management of a calendar is quite difficult! It may imply some sort of “privacy abuse” in order to deliver value to the user. In a connected world by adding a task it should trigger an action in other third parties!

Do you mean for websites? For that, check out super.so/ and www.potion.so/ - they're website builders for Notion. You probably won't have as much flexibility as with WP + Elementor or Webflow, but it's an interesting look at what's to come.

I think so, yes. I'll need to look into this more deeply, but off the top of my head, I can already see the potential for habit tracking. The API would allow for habit tracking automation by using a time of day as a trigger in Zapier/Automate.io, which could then execute a bot to uncheck your habit, increment the due date by one day, and add to your streak if the checkbox was checked. This would probably work even better if a developer wanted to tackle the building of a custom app, but I do think it's possible with these integration builders.

Is there no way to integrate Gmail with Notion? It seems to be blocked for standard ‘consumer’ gmail users. Would be great to be able to forward attachments into Notion but seems impossible without Gmail integration 🤨

I don't believe you can forward attachments to Notion yet anyway. I spoke to the devs yesterday, and at the present moment I believe you can really only send text/numbers to Notion through the API. They're working on allowing files, images, and other media in the near future. When that happens, you may not need to use the Gmail integration on Automate/Zapier. I only have experience with Automate right now, but I was able to use their default Email app. It gives you a special email address, which you can forward content to in order to kick off a bot.

How did the "Intentional failure note" managed to get to Notion?

I was testing the same workflow in Automate.io and Zapier. That note was designed to make Automate.io throw an error, and I found that Zapier happily sent the note instead of throwing an error too. However, the error was desired - I was seeing if there was a way to bypass the 2000-character limitation when sending text to a single block through the API. There isn't - but at least Automate.io tells you so with an error. Zapier just passes the first 2000 characters and leaves out everything else.
