Question for anyone who can answer this: Could you move your manuscript into notion for your editing team? I love this notion breakdown! Thank you! It truly was so overwhelming. I've set up a treamspace for my editing team but I was wondering how or if I even should attempt to move my RD into notion at all or use google docs share for them instead?

This was a great intro. I recently heard about Notion, searched "using notions to write a book" and your video came up! Thank you for creating this and sharing. I'm a big believer in paying for what we value, even when it's out for free, so I went straight to your Patreon and signed up. I look forward to seeing what else you do.

Hi there! Love your videos. I tried to use the Basic Starter Template and it only has the title, but no other pages or subpages. Did I do something wrong or is it no longer available? Thanks for all you do!
@AuthorBrittanyWang2 жыл бұрын
Food question! For that Basic Starter template, that’s exactly what it is, a basic starter. It has a banner, icon, and title to get you started with whatever page you want to create. Then you can add your own subpages or customize it however you want. It’s the other templates that are more fleshed out with more features. We’re you able to access the other templates besides that Basic one?

LOVED THIS VIDEO!!! Would love to see more!!!! How did you do the quick links, struggling to figure that out! ❤❤
@AuthorBrittanyWang2 жыл бұрын
🤩❤️🙌 I’m so glad it was helpful, Renee!! And for the quick links: I just typed what I wanted each link to be called, highlighted the phrase, and pasted the webpage link. For me at least the phrase highlighted then becomes clickable. Or, if you want to link another page on your Notion, simply type @ and then type the name of your page in the search bar that comes up. Hope that helps! Definitely feel free to ask any other questions!

I loved this video. I am excited to use notion!! Thank you. I would love it if you could make a video or link me to a video about your publishing and marketing page and tips and tricks. I am publishing my first book in November, and I am nervous about that part!!

Thanks a lot! Now I know how to use Notion a little better. There's another site similar to Notion called Coda too. Probably has some of these same features. I'll have to see first, but if not I'll likely use Notion for all my major organization.

Hi! I think it would be really helpful if you spent more time on the word organizer and the general Writing Help section, or go in more detail on how you made it. I'm struggling with the actual writing part and I feel like that making a Writing Help section of my own would really help, but I'm kinda stuck on exactly _how_ to do that. Should I just go through books and get words?

This is such a helpful tutorial! Thank you so much for posting. I've been looking for a way to organize everything that isn't Google Docs (which hasn't been terrible but doesn't have nearly enough features to actually organize my ADHD brain haha) Now time to get mine all set up 😁

I came to Notion; because I was trying to figure out how to best structure my non-fiction book, what tools might be available; and I had heard about Scrivener. I kept running into issues with respect to not knowing where I was or how information was related to other information. I was using my outdated Word 2010. Yes, there's the Navigation Pane and you can create a table of contents; however... it still isn't enough to help me organize my thoughts. The interface seems so BUSY. That's why I started using Sticky Notes, but I could only organize them by color, and other colors were being used for things like keeping track of my copy and pasted KZbin descriptions and tags and stuff. Other sticky notes were for general copy and paste clipboard; because the version of Word that I have doesn't support multiple copy and paste options. So, again, I couldn't organize my work. I kept waffling between keeping my book as one document; or saving different entries or subjects I was talking about, in different documents. - And I could not EASILY move from one subject to another in either case. This was causing major resistance to the flow of writing and even had me procrastinating quite a bit when it came to making my daily entries. Sometimes I would go DAYS without writing anything. To me, the issue was clear. I didn't know what I was doing; I was highly disorganized, and this was causing a great amount of anxiety and resistance.

How are you backing up your information & are you able to access it offline? TIA
@davidmadisontheguardian2 жыл бұрын
Good stuff! But I disagree with not being able to write your book using Notion. I think it could become quite easy; there's just more to learn, such as databases and things like that. I wonder if all of us who love to organize things to the nth degree; who get so much satisfaction out of this... if we all have quite a bit of VIRGO in our charts? 😎 I have a ton of it in mine. That would be a great poll to take!

Author Brittany Wang If that is her real name, then she probably got the last name or family name from her husband. Wang is a Chinese surname, so her husband is probably ethnic Chinese, making Author Brittany Chinese-by-marriage. (Yeah, I once had an instructor who said she was Italian-by-marriage simply because her husband was of Italian descent, but culturally American. LOL) Author Brittany Wang seems to have ties with Bethany Atazadeh because Bethany's name appears on Brittany's website. Hmmm...
