This video was edited from footage taken in August 2022. When I took the video, the weather was unstable, with occasional torrential rains. On a clear day, the train running on the tracks surrounded by summer rice fields brought to mind the scenery of my hometown. This was my first one-way ticket in my life to go to Tokyo. To a city I'd never seen before, carrying my mother's lunch box, the scenery and stations that passed by were all unfamiliar. I was also a little anxious about when I would be able to meet them again. I remembered that an elderly couple sitting opposite me, enjoying a train journey, called out to me, "It's okay," and their eyes, staring at their lunch boxes, overflowed with tears so much that their shoulders were shaking.
The railway that leads to my hometown always gives me courage.
The Noto Railway is a line that runs through the beautiful Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture. It runs along Nanao Bay from Nanao to Anamizu, and its spectacular scenery fascinates visitors. This railway, beloved and familiar to locals, is known for its one-man operation, and the heartwarming daily scenes of the driver and passengers greeting each other "I'm home" and "Welcome back" are memorable. With the recovery of the Noto Peninsula in mind, the Noto Railway is a symbol of the region, giving visitors a sense of the warmth of their hometown.
The Noto Railway's NT200 series train is an attractive diesel railcar on a local line that runs along the beautiful Nanao Bay. The body of the train is based on blue, reminiscent of the sea of ​​Noto, with white accents, symbolizing the characteristics of the region. It is loved not only by locals but also by tourists.
The "POKEMON with YOU Train" began operation on August 1, 2024. This special train is painted with Pikachu and other Pokemon. I'd love to ride the train and run through the beautiful nature of the Noto Peninsula together.
