Fun fact: Faith was actually in the studio with him and they were good when he recorded his verse for this song. She knew that the song wasn't about her and the only thing that referred to her was the '"tattoo" line which she said he always had a way of throwing in some real life elements into his lyrics. Months later when they decided to shoot the video, the director, Lance "Un" Rivera, thought it would be cool to have her in it to spoof & make light of all of the rumors and controversy surrounding their then current marriage. She was mad at BIG at that time and declined, but told him that he should put his "girlfriend" in the video instead. So he did. At this time and up until his death, Faith was his wife (they were just separated), Charlie Baltimore was his girlfriend (that he claimed. She also lived with him in Jersey), and Lil' Kim was his main side-chick (his artist, and I'm sure he had MUCH love for her, but unfortunately, never "claimed" her in any meaningful way). So glad to see that these beautiful women have been able to move on from this since then

When this song came out, Big was married to Faith but they were seperated. If you pay attention to the lyrics and the video, Biggie's verse is obviously about Faith. He said 'Tatoo on TaTas saying Big Papa'. But in the album version, he said 'Tatoo on Titty saying BIG' and Faith use to have a BIG tatoo on her breast. That's why he had his new girlfriend, (Charlie Baltimore) imitating Faith, in the video. And poor Kim was just waiting in the wings, being a forever side chick the whole time, before and after he married Faith.
