I had the pleasure of meeting Dave Courtney whilst his firm was running the security at AWOL, Paradise Club in London. When we first went there in 92 it was very shady, with independent dealers ripping punters off sonetimes, getting mugged, dodgy pills etc etc. This all changed when Daves security took over. As he said once his security took over they took control of the drug dealers and the quality control. It changed everything about that club for the better. I unwittingly met Dave when i had lost my Mum's car keys in AWOL. I was shitting it thinking it was going to get nicked as it was parked 50m down the road. When i approached Dave he said dont worry about it son, your Mums car is going nowhere, go and enjoy the rest of the night. Go and see that fella over there (one of their dealers) and come and see me at the end of the night. I did and he personally handed me the car keys. Dave was proper old school. RIP. Nice podcast.

I was working in Tenerife when Micky Goldtooth was working the door at Linekers and You heard stories from workers about Things going off involving Dave and a few of his men. Confirmed in his book. I remember Micky had pasted someone one night and came in Rumours where I was working obviously I knew by the look on his face he'd done something and just said what do you gents want to drink, he was with another chap. He also used to have a cane on the door, a lovely bloke but wouldn't want to upset him. Dave very honest interview and I feel the pain of losing your soulmate. Great interview once again.

I've never been sure about Dave but tbh he's changed my mind with this interview, instead of his usual ego rants hes revealed himself here as who he is. That's down to Dodge as his interview style gets his guests relaxed and talking real talk. His (DC) list of people that backs him up for not being a grass settles it for me as you can't say those names if you're bullshitting. Another excellent interview from Dodge, one of KZbins best UK channels IMHO 👍

This is the best interview I've ever seen with Dave Courtney, great job. Whether you like Dave or not, he's certainly a great character and story teller. I personally think Dave is the truest example of a loveable rogue. Despite him being a bit 'naughty' back in the day, you can't help but like the guy. Such an open an honest interview, couldn't help but feel rather choked up when Dave spoke about the break down of his marriage, and the loss of his boy. Sincere condolences for the loss of Genson and wishing you the very best Dave .

I have had the great pleasure of knowing Dave since the mid 90s, had some great nights out! I used to help out when he would organise parties in support of the Krays. I hope Dave reads this comment because I wanna remind him of a right little head case he recruited in the organising of these parties. His name was Gary Piper, he was another funny guy and could really make you laugh, He's a man I'm glad to have had those laughs with, I haven't seen Gary since the late 90s, would love to know how life panned out for him! So enjoying the history of criminality and what the world actually was back then. Most impressed by the codes these people lived by. The influx of hard drugs unfortunately brought in those who had no codes. I know they committed awful things, they are all extremely honest about the difference between showbusiness/films/press and the awful way it used to be. I appreciate the stark honesty of those who were actually there, thanks so much for these.

Great interview, no stupid questions or interruptions, just a straightforward no ballix interview of a straight forward man who obviously led a hard, unrepentant life. Many will disagree with his life, however within working class communities, where the police cannot do anything to help, or they can make issues worse, there’s always going to be people like Dave Courtney, & if honest, if the violence is kept in house, everyone knows the rules, & the likes of Dave can stand up for people who are unable to stand up for themselves, or/& police through no evidence or witness fear of intimidation can’t sort it, I’ve no problem with the likes of Dave sorting it, because reality dictates society. Lived It/Died It. Rest Easy.

A mother's love with break the strongest bonds, and Jenny sounds like an incredible women. The moral and ethical code has changed on all fronts and 'celebrity' and Internet has a lot to answer to. Seeing the emotional side of violent criminals that are at retirement age, can easily lure into thinking they are harmless, but not all hard men are.dangerous and not all dangerous men are hard, DC is an easy listen.

Regardless of being a man of naughty nature you can see the man has a heart. The pain on loss of his son being shot id evident in his telling. These men the host interviews give me another view on human nature. These men do have a strong code of conduct and you can see they hold to it when so many people these days lack any character at all.
