Nowadays the money is handed to them on a plate and the ‘image’ is fabricated by men in suits (yeah, i know, there were always backroom politics and contracts to make money..) who need to sell products and social media hits. Like the boy bands of the 90’s..todays music all seems so safe or so ridiculous.. There’s no ‘soul’ in most of the crap churned out day by day. Phew. Rant over. Sorry 😎

@@raf-bw it’s cause people nowadays don’t wanna hear real story telling rap. It’s just not what sells. There are plenty of rappers still like that but they don’t sell cause that’s not what most people wanna hear anymore. Which is unfortunate cause I appreciate the art. But real change only gonna happen when hip hop fans start giving the “clout” or the views to the real rappers and not the bs they have today. If not, then those “men in suits” are only gonna keep promoting the bad music cause that’s what sells cause it’s a business at the end of the day

I teach 3rd grade in the hood, some of my kids have learning disabilities. However I always think of this song when he says "this song is dedicated to the teachers that told him he would never amount to nothing" I'll be damned if I ever tell my kids they can't be something great!

@@MonkeyDLuffy60073 thats good for you man, but are you common or the exception to the rule? your personal struggle aside that is not the scenario for most of kids from the hood. the tv show the wire sums it up the best ... Bunny Colvin: But it's not about you or us, or the tests or the system, it's what they expect of themselves. I mean, every single one of them know they're headed back to the corners. Their brothers and sisters, shit, their parents, they came through these same classrooms, didn't they? We pretended to teach them, they pretended to learn, where'd they end up? Same damn corners. They're not fools, these kids. They don't know our world, but they know their own. I mean, Jesus, they see right through us.
