1000 % agree .. The songs he and Steinman created were not 2 or 3 minutes like we see today.. They were over 10 minutes and some hit 14 minutes and had many verses…

Well, he was a Broadway star hired to sing an album that Jim Steinman had just written. So, yeah, he was unknown in the mainstream, but he was well known in theatre. He'd been appearing on Broadway for probably 8 years before bat out of hell came out .

Teens of today will never experience the sheer joy of driving in your car with your guy and girl friends, with the windows rolled down, and singing this song at the top of your lungs!!! Patti looks amazing. What a grand performance. Meat Loaf has been my favorite artist since I was 9 years old, 26 years ago. That was when I first heard "I'd Do Anything For Love". Everyone else was listening to BSB and I was blasting "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights". He had some hard times and so many health issues but despite it all he really left his mark. I'm so happy I saw him in concert in 2016. His voice wasn't as strong any more but he was still iconic and he put on one helluva show. Rest easy Meat. ❤🦇

Once or twice in a generation a spectacular talent emerges. I am lucky that in my generation we had Meatloaf, Freddie, David Bowie, Elton John Suzi Quattro, Slack Sabbath. Think we quite likely got the greatest concentration of talent. Stars that are still bigger than most of this generation's finest, Some of whom died before they were even born.

First time I heard paradise by the dashboard lights was the night I met my husband to be. This became our song every anniversary he made sure to play it. The last night he was on this earth he played it. I saw this live in Antwerp.... Best year ever for the Night of the Proms.... and yes he had to shorten the song to 22 min... (first night it was 45min and lots of ppl missed the last bus/train home....

Where in hell has this copy been? We've only had the poor grainey video with bad audio? This is a really high quality video with great audio!!! Thanks for posting it! I liked the violin bit too. Patti is the best!
