Amy, It is really nice of you to pay tribute to this Great Cathedral... I am shocked when these places, that are mostly stone catch fire! From what you saw when you were there, (Obviously Previous to the fire) did you notice if the structure's ceiling, and parts of the frame work were made of wood, and Flammable things? I just don't understand this, you think a Fire would be easy to contain, when a structure is mostly made out of stone, and inflammable things?! Could you offer some insight? Thank You! You're welcome Tis Vargas. It was very sad, though fortunately some relics were saved including the gargoyles on the roof (which had been removed for cleaning days before), and the crown of thorns was also saved. 🖤🖤🖤

Oh this was so poignant and so tastefully done Amy. I don't think I had seen any footage from the interior of that magnificent structure before now. Beyond stunning. Also, thanks to you, I learned some valuable history. Sure there is darkness to the stories, but they are told in such a heartfelt, respectful manner. (btw I did see a "666" @ 5:30!) I have heard that some of the artifacts may have been saved, thankfully!

It's painfull to see how the fire destroyed the roof and the inside with all his centuries old memories and architecture. But they going to repair and build up one of the biggest monuments of Paris again. She shall rise again like she did it already in history and the ghosts and her rich memories will stay.... It is so sad that this building burnt down. Man that building is so old and it is a historical building for Paris and around the world. Well a cross in the building was speared from the fire. I hope they will be able to repair the building. For the people of Paris I am so sorry for your lose of this beautiful building. It is also amazing that building wasn't destroyed doing the bombing of Paris during World War II. I am one of those people who hasn't had a chance to visit the beautiful church.

Thanks so much for this short history of Notre Dame Cathedral. I've always thought it was one of the most lovely churches. No doubt, there are many priceless artifacts inside. It's so sad to see this go. I have a friend in France who sent me a map, of all of the known Church Fires in France. It certainly looks far more than coincidental: they are dotting the entire country, all over it. Who knows if this was because they opened their borders. Paris is pretty well locked tight (except for the case of the Cathedral), but when the Parisians visited the nearby Neice on a holiday, there was a tragedy when a van ran over people on the sidewalks and road. Thanks so much for this, Amy!
